BUG and CRASHES researching Equivalent Resources
I was researching what resources were considered equivalent to what for another post. I had the Library open to the left, and things usually opened to the right, when I remembered closing them again before opening something else. When I found an Equivalent Resources button I clicked on it to see what it included. During this process I encountered two or three anomalies:
1) W-H, Elzevir, Tischendorf, Newberry, and the SBLGNT first opened without Parallel Resources buttons. When I tried opening them a second time later, the buttons were suddenly there. Except for the SBLGNT, which needed three attempts.
2) The Apostolic Fathers don't seem to have any Parallel Resources buttons no matter how many attempts I do. Shouldn't they have?
3) I had two crashes. I don't know what I did, and I don't have time to research further, but here are the Apple crash logs: 7750.Logos Bible Software 4_2011-05-24-182743_deleted.crash.zip, 2860.Logos Bible Software 4_2011-05-24-190819_deleted.crash.zip

You will want to verify that you are at a spot in the resource where the active reference box is neither blank nor displaying a page number in order to get the Parallel Resource button to appear.
We are still examining your logs for number three.

We weren't able to find anything conclusive in your logs. If the problem reoccurs, it would be helpful if you could save your Logos logs before restarting the program and send those to us.

Since it was the kind of crash that gives an Apple message, I just clicked Open Again (or whatever it says with an English UI), and didn't think about the logs until a few seconds too late. I'll try to do better if something similar happens again.

From some experimenting that seems sort of correct, but not quite. I e, if the Bible opens to a reference, the button turns up, but if the Bible opens to the beginning of the book, there is no button, and no amount of scrolling or typing references or using the arrows seems to bring it up:
To get the button in a resource that opens without it, I have to scroll forwards, close the Bible, and then open it again. I can't imagine that's how it's intended to work...

I am able to reproduce the issue on the Mac version using the resource in your screen shot. I'll submit a report.
Are there other resources you've noticed this occurring in as well?

I mentioned a whole bunch in the original post. Looks to me like it's the same with all Bibles and all Apostolic Fathers. Haven't tried other resources. That's kind of your job; I've already lost a couple of hours over this bug.

Using a collection with rule title:(Early,Fathers) noticed some Early Church Father resources have type Bible Commentary. Opened a commentary; initially Parallel Resources button did not appear. Clicked three circles, then checked/unchecked Show page numbers, watched Parallel Resources button appear.
Using Logos 4.2b SR-1 to open "The Apostolic Fathers: English Translations" in a new tab, initially Parallel Resources button did not appear, using Table of Contents, clicked "1 Clement 1", then check/uncheck Show page numbers was accompanied by appearance of Parallel Resources button.
In "The Apostolic Fathers: Greek Text" after changing location to IEph 2, required couple times of check/uncheck Show page numbers for Parallel Resources button to appear.
In "Lake's Apostolic Fathers in English", initial display lacked Parallel Resources (clicking in Table of Contents changes location to page #):
Needed to click on a word to change location reference (1 Clement 1:1), then clicked Show page numbers to cause Parallel Resources button to appear:

I just encountered this bug again today, and was reminded that it was a long time since the initial bug report.

I can confirm this behavior (no parallel resource button) in random resources, also ks4j workaround (open TOC in resource and parallel resource button appears).

Logos 4.6a Beta 2 has similar behavior on Mac OS X 10.6.8 and Windows 7; caveat: clicking two Table of Content references on Mac was needed compared to one click on Windows for parallel resources to appear (e.g. Didache 1.1)

You know, you're correct ks4j - open TOC, click on something, and then parallel resource opens.
Just tried again after reading your response above and found that it took opening the TOC, clicking on something within the TOC, and repeat clicking, then parallel resource shows. (used DLNTD for this test)
the program crashed this time, had to force quit.[:S] oh well

Clicking on TOC can change location in a resource to something that can be cross-referenced in parallel resources.
Note: page numbers lack parallel.

Crashes, especially ones with repeatable steps, tend to be fixed by Logos development team (eventually). Curious about DLNTD entry that crashed.
