LCMS Brief Statement

Attached is "A Brief Statement of the Doctrinal Position of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod".

This one took a little longer to figure out the Book of Concord links - I used the new Kolb/Wengert edition since it is the current standard text.  I wish the datatype for Book of Concord was documented a bit better - that would make it easier.

And this time I searched the Logos web page and am pretty sure they don't sell it...

    Peace to you, Ken!            *smile*

You have done us a "service"!              I'm sure MJ would be interested in this semi-credal statement, also!

It's not in any Logos Concordia Publishing House Resources that I own either...........    Thank you!

I wish I had the CPH collections...

There's still a few excellent commentaries I haven't been able to afford yet; but I'm pleased the Lord has permitted me to have as many as I do!         *smile*

Maybe if Logos can work out a way for my loved ones to "gift me" through them with a wish list, I could finish my CPH Collection.

One day at a time, eh?

How do I access this through Logos as opposed to downloading it as a Word document on my computer? Thank you.

you do both. You download the Wordfile and then you use Tools/Personal Books to built the logos resource.

Thank you very much. May I remind new forum members that they can access several other statements from LCMS via reading lists and convert those of interest to them into PB's?

Peace and Joy in the Lord, MJ!

You are an absolutely incredible person!                     I just looked at the LCMS Reading List from my L4 Tools Menu and am "blown away" by how much information you have put there for ready access for your brothers and sisters who use Logos 4.

I can't even imagine anything you left out!                  *smile*

Are you ever thorough, eh?!!                                              Doing this also in regard to many and various denominations and organisations!

                                       Thank you very much, indeed!

In creating the personal book version of the Brief Statement, as well as much of what my LCMS has on their website, it was clear to me that it would be near incomprehensible without some knowledge of 19th century Lutheran History, esp. the confessional renewal in both Germany and the US.

Because of that, I started looking for available primary sources that would be able to be converted into Logos Personal Books.

For various reasons I'm starting with the controversy over the "Definite Platform" in the 1850's.  So far I have a rough version of Mann's _Plea for the Augsburg Confession_ and Schmucker's _American Lutheranism Vindicated_ in Logos PB's.

What I would like would be info on interest level for this, as well as, well, distribution advice.  Is this the right place for it?

Also additional eyes to proofread these PB's would be appreciated, as would be book priorities.

    What does anyone think?

Since making the first version I have learned how to include the confession references by type so that it should work with any edition of the Book Of Concord.  I have remade my edition of the Brief Statement to include this.  In addition I removed a few spaces that were causing some scripture links to not be tagged by the PB system.  And so I'm releasing an update....
