I know - most of you will not want/need it  but I read a thread saying that some one wanted to refresh their Theological  German, which I beleive to be MHG...but may be mistaken, anyhow I plan to enhance/refresh mine, as I seem to be reading more German text snippets (badly) at present..

I realise a lot  of the internal links like (§29) arent linked, but its really low on my list of priorities for now, so this is as far as I am taking it for now.

If it helps you It is a blessing..

Unfortunately, if I look into this book, you really may be mistaken...

Middle High German was the language of Medieval times, which is associated with Nibelungenlied, Eschenbach's Parcival and with minstrel poetry by Walther von der Vogelweide (I see now there are some examples from these in the book), thus some centuries earlier than Chaucer or Malory. Most German's today can't read it without a translation, it's less understandable to me than e.g. Dutch or Afrikaans.

If I'd assume "Theological German" to be something allowing you to understand rather contemporary theologians (read 19th to 21th century), it may not help you much - but even if you intend to study Martin Luther, bear in mind that his language differs greatly from Middle High German and most editions of Reformatian age books have been updated in terms of spelling and thus read much like contemporary German.

That said, thanks a lot for the resource and your work.
