Will Logos 4 run on windows 8?
Yes.
Hi Brad,
Welcome to the forums! It depends is the best answer. If you mean the most expensive version of windows 8, the answer is that it already does (several W8 beta testers installed it). If you mean on the new Surface-type hardware available for pre-order, the answer is not yet (as the $500 version available for preorder doesn't run the high-end version of windows 8). If you'll search the forums for Windows 8, you'll find much more detail, as you aren't the 1st to ask. :-)
I'm running it on the pre-release (beta??) version of Windows 8.
There is a forum section for Windows 8. One of the posts here might give you some more info.

I have tried repeatedly, and in three different browsers, to search the forums for "windows 8" this is what I get:
I guess they don't like to search numbers. I have a "search the current site" separate from the Forums supplied one and it works ok.
Right. To clarify, Windows 8 machines run existing WIndows apps, including Logos 4. Windows RT machines (including Surface RT--but not the forthcoming Surface Pro, which will run WIndows 8) only run apps from the Windows Store (plus the versions of Office apps that come with RT). So Logos needs apps in the Windows Store for use on Windows RT (and the new interface portion of Windows 8). As announced earlier this week, Logos is working on getting apps done for the WIndows Store and has already released a verse of the day app. So hopefully the RT version of Logos 4 is coming soon! Woo-hoo!
I would appreciate it if you could tell me where I can I get this "search the current site" tool? thanks--
I am confused about what you are trying to do. If you are asking how to search the Logos FORUMS to read posts by other users, the best way is to use google. Use the syntax: site:community.logos.com. A search for "windows 8" would look like this:
site:community.logos.com windows 8
Does that help?
Michael I added that button several years ago. I don't remember how. It does the same thing that Alabama described, but it is a shortcut. I think you can get instructions here.
Google Toolbar API - Guide to Making Custom Buttons
thank you alabama, that is nice to know.
but I was referring to the quote that I quoted from Jerry M, who said he has "a 'search the current site' separate from the Forums supplied one and it works ok"
it is this for which I was requesting information. still, I do appreciate your help.
ahh, I see now Jerry M, thank you.
And thanks to all who offered help.
Here are a couple of threads that discuss this, with links to instructions.
