I know that Vyrso books can be read using the LOGOS apps and programs.  Can LOGOS books be read as e- books within the Vyrso apps, etc.?

Floyd Johnson:

on my Nexus tablet, i have a few Logos books downloaded in the Vyrso app and the Verbum app (i am not a verbum customer).

Edit:

i have 4 FL apps on my Nexus (Logos, Vyrso, Verbum, & Noet). i use 3 of them with split screen so that i have access to 6 Bible translations (two per FL app.  e.g. the Logos app has the NIV84 & the NASB95). The other one (Noet), i use for a Holman Bible Atlas and the Tyndale Bible Dictionary. Use these in the offline mode (so the books i need for each app are dowloaded). Our Church doesn't have wifi and my Nexus doesn't have external connectivity (e.g. 4LG). But the tablet works great in Sunday School and during the Sermon. Our Preacher is using NASB and my paper Bible is an NIV 2003, so i can quickly pull out the Nexus and navigate in the NASB and follow the sermon. i have only a few books downloaded for the Vyrso, Verbum, & Noet apps. But have quiet a few downloaded for the Logos app.

Yes, although the Vyrso app has a switch to turn off Logos edition resources. I think it is turned on by default (so you won't see them).

Exactly - found the switch and am now reading LOGOS books in my Vryso app.  Thanks.

Is there a similar switch to turn off Vyrso books from appearing in the Logos app?

Graham answered your question directly... there is no "switch," unfortunately. There is, however, syntax you can use. For example, if you want to see all of your downloaded logos edition resources type edition:l local: and only downloaded logos edition resources will show.

OK thanks, I'll try that search syntax.

How about Biblica? Can you turn off Logos books and Vyrso Books with a switch or a setting? How about for Noet and Verbum same question? If I buy the Verbum Portfolio the highest Catholic ( I am not a Catholic but the resources could come in handy to see history and the reasons why they went the ways they went. Some stuff I probably would agree on maybe and the rest just ignore it. It is history we are a by-product of the Catholic church and the Eastern Orthodox Church in the Byzantine world.) My question could I use the same engine of Logos 6 and not have too download the Verbum engine? I am just curious because I would want them separate because of all the books and information.

Hi Austin - and welcome to the forums

Austin Chiang:

If I understand correctly your question is about the Logos 6 application - not the mobile apps (which is what was being discussed above)

Yes - you can install the Logos 6 engine and the books you purchase as part of Verbum Portfolio would download into it and you could read them there. In "Logos" mode some of the Verbum features would not be available but there is a command you can use to enable them.

Not sure what you mean - it seems to contradict what you said earlier so I think I must be misunderstanding you.

Probably best to continue this discussion in the Logos 6 forum if you still have questions

What I am sharing is that the Noet, Vyrso and Logos books are all there when you use Logos and you use Biblia. Is there a way not to see the Logos books while using Biblia or Noet or Vyrso?Or say I just want to use my Noet and Vyrso books for Biblia. Vise a versa for using Logos.

As above, the Vyrso app has a switch so only Vyrso (or downloaded) resources are shown. Other than that you would need to tag resources or use collections to limit what resources are visible.

Sorry ST. I was responding to Austin's point and didn't think about what the Verbum packages actually are.

Apologies for any confusion

For clarification: Are you saying that the Vyrso app has a "downloaded" switch? I know that Vyrso has an option to show only edition:e book (Vyrso only). I have never heard that there is a switch for local:

The setting includes both cases - see description below:

This results in - for example - a downloaded ESV to be present in the Library even with the switch set

Ah... it isn't even what I thought you meant. That is interesting. I <think> this is what happened: They went to create a "show Vyrso only" switch, and realized that downloaded non-vyrso resources showed too. Big Smile

Why in the world they haven't created a "downloaded" switch, I'll never know.

Maybe - my speculation would be that downloading a resource to the app suggested that the user wanted access to it at all times and so it was reasonable / right to show in the Library even when otherwise just showing Vyrso resources.

Yeah, but that implies that they know how to create a switch for downloaded resources and did so... for a very limited purpose... and haven't spent the time to have one for the regular, everyday purpose. For my sanity, I would prefer to think that it was accidental rather than purposeful... else their lack of creating a dedicated "downloaded" switch is maddening.

As alabama24 alludes this tangent has been explored in many other threads.

How to display only downloaded books

Request Sort by downloaded function

Downloaded books need priority
