I've found myself using the "Septuagint Version of the Old Testament" when comparing Septuagint and MT readings; but it would be great to have an English translation of the Septuagint that isn't 166 years old Smile

This fairly new translation published by Oxford looks good:

You can even download it in PDF form from their website so shouldn't be too complicated to produce right? Wink

Yes, it is good. Yes, I have it in page & spine format. Yes, I'd love to have it in Logos. Yes, I am anxious for them to complete the annotations.

I suggested this resource a couple years ago, but have not heard anything. Glad to see it suggested again.

+1 Yes

I hope the German Bible Society will make a translation of the Septuagint available in SESB. Last year a German translation of the Septuagint was published which already has become available in their Bibledigital software: http://www.bibelonline.de/products/Neuerscheinungen/bibeldigital-Septuaginta-Deutsch.html

I have recommended this work several times and I'm not sure why Logos hasn't done anything about it. It has been available in Accordance for quite some time. I use it frequently and it is much better - and I mean much better - than the 166 year old translation!

I am in seminary at ACTS which is a part of TWU in B.C., and a number of the teachers here were involved in the translation process (the Septuagint Institute is based here), and I can assure you that it is excellent.

Logos, this really should be a priority...

Yes

There is also the St Athanasius Academy Septuagint by the St Athanasius Academy of Orthodox Theology. Thomas Nelson publishes the translation in the Orthodox Study Bible.

::bump:: I'd like to see NETS as a Logos resource as well.

I haven't heard a peep out of Logos. I wonder if they are actively pursuing NETS? Anyone?

The wheel can turn slow on these things and if they are in licensing negotiations you most defintely won't hear a peep from the good folk at Logos.

Your suggestion gets my vote though Gary,  just in case Logos need a gentle reminder.  A reverse interlinear version would be most valued so that it integrates tightly into the other tools on the logos platform would be really great.

I also would like to see the german version in SESB 4 that another poster mentioned.
