I know we can't always have what we exactly want in software but the current release (4.1 SR-3) has provided so many of the improvements/enhancements that I've been waiting on. So, thanks Logos team! It's much appreciated!
Now, get back to work....
tJames,
It's amazing isn't it?
You think that4.1 SR3 is good? The very next beta is amazing!
Good things are coming....
I read here that the current release of Logos is 4.1 SR-3. The version of Logos I have is 4.04.4.3415. How is this, as I thought that the new Logos upgrades automatically?
In Logos 4 I have in Tools -> Program Settings clicked Yes for Automatically Download Updates.

Have you restarted Logos recently? I think that's when it checks for updates. Or you could enter "update now" in the command box to force the check.

Really? Give us some hints.... I used to be a regular beta tester on L3 but with the newnes of L4 I opted to just get the updates after they became "Gold". I'm tempted to become a beta tester on L4 but for now I'll patiently wait for the non-beta updates. But do give us some hints as to upcoming enhancements....
Give us some hints
There are basically two enhancements in the current beta. The first is that in Biblical Places/Things/People the content can be viewed full-screen without the normal ribbon of data above and below the main piece of information. This is done by auto-hiding those ribbons. See an example here: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/24122.aspx
The second is allowing resources to be viewed in columns across a window. This can be done full screen or in a wide single panel. It is called Reading View and to some extent better mimics the feel of a book. You can see a couple of screen shots here: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/24113.aspx
These are not new Bible study features, just usability enhancements. Both are quite nice. I think it is likely something a little more substantial might later be added to the beta, but we have not heard if this will happen.
Mark!
You told them!!! That's "need to know"...... [;)]
I think that these are two VERY welcome enhancements...they are very nice...
I cannot update to L4.1, Is this only for Beta testers? If not please advise. I have tried 'Update Now' and nothing seems to happen.
Make sure the software is set to receive updates, and use the internet. Look in tools, and check your setting.
Thanks Lynden and others who have helped.
The problem is resolved and I now have L 4.10.4.5986.
Thanks too. I think it's very cool that we have a group of men and women who are defintely working to improve and inhance thier/our product.
Way to go Logos!
