For those of you who do not use notes in Logos 4 (or do not use them extensively) what other program do you use? Why do you like it? How well does it integrate with Logos 4?

I use notes in L4, but I have also used OneNote. None of the outside note programs really integrate with Logos right now. There have been requests for integration of OneNote and EverNote (possibly some others I cannot think of); but that has not happened yet and I don't know if it will.
I like OneNote for a couple reasons:
It came with my Office 2010 package
It's interaction with my other MS Office programs
I have never used EverNote, but some really like it.

That should give a number of alternatives.
I use the free The Word bible study program. I can afford it and it has many options. I can search my notes, tie them in with collections if I want, hyper link bible verses, print and there are many more features, and I still have bibles in the same program and I have over 1400 public domain books in the program. I can also use the notes section for writing books, and putting other public domain books in the system so they can be searched and put in collections.
I also use it to give out to those that do not have money for Logos.
However, it is not the same as Logos, I only use it because I have to, if Logos had better notes, and the ability to add my own pdf books to it I would only use Logos. I would still use TheWord to give away to those without a program until Logos makes a more affordable program for poor folks.
I am doing work on a DTH degree and I find Logos a wonderful aid to doing my studies, I love it and can't wait for a few of the old Libronix features to come back.

Thanks Jim. This has been a big issue for me, and I wish Logos would address this as I would prefer to use one program. It cost enough[:)]
This whole area of cost is a huge issue for me, to start with I was ran over by truck while, riding bikes with my son, so I am not able to hold down a job. But much more important to me is one of the main things that God has me doing is teaching other believers how to study the bible.
Using computers is the easiest and cheapest way to find good resources to use in bible study. About a year ago I had great hopes that Logos 4 would be a huge jump forward in getting people into bible study, but honestly it has not worked out that way.
Too many needed features were left out of the program including a way to cheaply build your own public domain books to put into the system, notes, printing and other features. All these things are very important when learning what can really be done in using your computer in studing the scriptures. On top of these problems... many computers just can not run Logos 4 properly. All of these things have been huge issues for me because of the higher cost for the average believer to be able to study properly with Logos 4.
It is a fact that I live in a very poor part of the country and these cost factors has ruled Logos out for many of the believers in my area, but the problem is not just here in America, I am also helping schools in other countries to obtain inexpensive bible software for doing work in their schools and afterwards.
Once again the program is expensive, and too incomplete for people in other countries. As a result I have had to go with the Word program in these areas, but it does a good job and you can down load it from any access point and you have 1000's for free public domain books you can add to it, and it works on almost any computer. Of course they have just starting to sell a select number of copyrighted books for it so it does have some draw backs, but with the huge amount of free books you can do a huge amount of studies for no cost.
My dream and hope is that in the future Logos 4 will run on more computers and that some of the cheaper libraries will contain a program which allow other public domain books to be made like the Libronix 3 did and put into the system. Then people in the poorer countries could help each other build large libraries cheaply in the best bible program in the world. At the same time they would be able to buy copyrighted books as they could afford them.
The ability to train the body of Christ cheaply world wide is almost here, I hope to see that happen, and I hope that Logos is a major part of it, but until they change some things I am very thankful to see the Word program and how it is constantly getting better.
