Logos keeps crashing every 4-5 minutes of use.
Howdy,
Since the recent update my Logos is crashing every few minutes when I am typing notes. I have attached all the required logging files. If someone could offer assistance it would be appreciated as it is making my sermon preparation very frustrating....

Noticed parallels in Console Messages - wonder about using Logos 4.2a in Windows for Note editing workaround ? Forum mentions several Note issues on Mac => http://community.logos.com/forums/p/30845/228725.aspx#228725
Observation: Logos 4 crash occurred at 17:10 - Logos 4 Mac was launched at 17:13 (overwrote Logos4.log lines corresponding with 17:10 crash), however noticed Console Messages has Saved crash report: /Users/hisnhers/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/Logos Bible Software 4_2011-03-14-171340_iMac.crash (for crash at 17:13 that was not written to Logos 4.log file).
Suspect Logos developers would appreciate saved crash reports being compressed and uploaded.
Also have option to contact Logos support => http://www.logos.com/about/contact and mention this forum thread
Console messages has a variety of errors and crashes:
-[NSCFArray isEqualToDictionary:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance
*** RICH TEXT EDITOR CHECKSUM FAILED ***
-[VisualBookmark isEqualToDictionary:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance

I have loaded the windows version of logos and am using that atm. There is a few differences between the two versions in fact the windows version searches faster than my mac version. I may do more work in it.

Are you using Logos for Windows on the Mac? ..with Bootcamp? ..or with a virtualization system such as Parallels?

I now have two Logos systems loaded. One in Mac as normal which crashes when using notes. The second one was loaded after the problem occurred, and it is in Windows through Parallels. I loaded this so I could keep working on my sermon. It has nothing to do with the Mac version which is crashing.
Melissa has there been any news from the development team?

As far as the Mac side, why not simply erase all remnants of it and re-install? Once your account repopulates the Mac side of your Logos environment, it should be alright.
Furthermore, avoiding the beta releases may help as well.
Use set update channel to stable as a command to get out of the beta tree and confined to the stable releases.
I posted in another thread the question - is Logos for Windows via Parallels faster than Logos for Mac. It seems by what you wrote earlier then, that it IS a little faster.

I'll wait for the other folks to post results too though.

Mac Troubleshooting page Uninstalling and Reinstalling in Logos 4 Mac section has an observation: "Nominally needed to fix corrupt application"; crash experience using Notes was not from a corrupt application.
Wiki Logos 4 Mac includes: PC notes have more capabilities than Mac, including automatic hyperlinking of scripture in notes. Also, forum reply http://community.logos.com/forums/p/30837/229548.aspx#229548 has # 1 notes request - implement parity with PC.
From past experience, do know Logos 4 Mac will be improved. Currently not know if a 4.2a service release will be issued for this Notes crash.
Potential path going forward - use stable Logos 4 PC for note editing and use beta Logos 4 Mac for testing; perhaps with beta "Use Internet" turned off to keep any personal data surprises from syncing to Logos servers to adversely affect Logos 4 PC. When next Logos 4 Mac beta release candidate is ready, could reset Logos 4 Mac user settings, followed by syncing personal information from Logos servers.

I was wondering if the development team have looked into this problem? I have started using notes again more frequently and it is still crashing. The issue only occurs when I am typing in notes.

They are currently working on a fix for version 4.3, which is currently in Beta testing. I'll update this thread when a fix is available and in which Beta release it is included, in case you don't want to wait for a final release candidate of 4.3.

You may already know this, but a word of caution may be in order. It is probably best not to have both copies of L4 active at the same time. It has the potential of creating synch problems. Bit me once.
