Logos 4.3 Beta 1 (4.30.0.0130) Crash
Hi
Please can someone remind me how to generate a log file. I haven't done it for a while and I can't find the forum post with the step by step guide.
I too am having problems with this beta. It crashes every time I open a layout.
Thanks
Andrew

Andrew
LogosLogScribe will automate the gathering and archiving of L4 logos and place the compressed file on your desktop.

8712.Logging.zipThanks Theolobias - that is an easier way than how I remembered. Anyway error logs attached. What causes the crash is entering a layout or typing a bible reference in the Go box.
Thanks

Andrew,
I'm no expert on logs, so hopefully someone will have a look at them soon and be able to help you!

Logos4_Crash.txt has a crash from yesterday. When Logos 4 Mac was launched again, corresponding Logos4.log file was overwritten. If crash repeats, please compress Logging and post before opening Logos 4 Mac again.
Logos4.log file has 2 kinds of errors, but no crash.
1) Logos developers => *** -[NSAutoreleasePool release]: This pool has already been released, do not drain it (double release).
2) Error opening 3 Bibles: NIV, ESV, and NASB95.
Wonder about opening each Bible (NIV, ESV, NASB95), scroll some in those Bibles, sync, then try opening a layout or typing a bible reference in the GO box ?

Thanks. It crashed many times yesterday, but the logs were generated immediately after one of these crashes.
Thanks for your suggestion, which I tried, but logos is still crashing when I try to open a layout. I am wondering if there is a problem with my layouts.db
I will smile again once I can get Logos working [:)]

Able to replicate crash using external version 4.30.136 by opening Logos 4 Mac to Home Page, then entering Matthew 1:1 , followed by clicking GO:
On Home Page, can open to Mark 1:1-8 without a crash, so closed all sections in Passage Guide, then changed passage to Matthew 1:1-17, followed by opening one section at a time in Passage Guide. Crash repeated after opening Biblical People. Tried several more passages, was able to open Passage Guide Biblical People for Matthew 2:16-18:
Changing verses to include Joseph (e.g. Matthew 2:16-23) shows Biblical People being populated then Logos 4 Mac (4.30.136) crashing about a second after screen capture:

Wonder about workaround - open Passage Guide to Matthew 2:16-18, then close Biblical People section, followed by Home Page with Matthew 1:1 "GO"

open Passage Guide to Matthew 2:16-18
I can open the passage guide, but as soon as I select any passage it crashes.
Logs attached.

Wonder if can open Passage Guide to Luke 1:1-4 ? (only has 1 Biblical People entry: Theophilus)

Must be just a bug in the mac version then. I hope a developer reads this and has a fix for the next Beta.

I'm able to reproduce crash when Biblical People section is generated for PG on Matt 1:1 and have submitted logs to development. Thanks.
