Important changes to sync feature coming in 4.3 Beta 6
Those affected will
be customers using the same login information for both a Beta and a stable
version of the program. The syncing will only be affected in the stable
version. Any new copy formats or edits to any existing custom formats on
the stable install will fail. These items will be synched to the server
when 4.3 is released to the stable channel and the new sync version is in use
on both channels.
All
other data will continue to sync to the server normally.
The re-writing of the
sync feature is being done in order to pave the way for some exciting future
features (groups, sharing, collaboration, etc.)

I can't necessarily comment on specifics (mostly because the specifics aren't entirely nailed down), but I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Couldn't agree more.

Bob had a ridiculously thorough post in one of the vyrso threads addressing the fact that all projects are full steam ahead and adding more resources to ones you desire would fall under the law of diminishing returns. Let me see if I can't find a link to that post.

Why not just focus on completing a personal bible study app that works like it should on my computer and forget all this client-server baloney that is only important to those who think cloud computing is a wiz-bang idea. I'd rather have a stand alone app that runs efficiently on my computers than all these exciting future features that to me are unnecessary for my personal bible study and lesson preparation. I will add that Logos 4 for mac is becoming more useable and less buggy but it is still slow to respond.

I guess different users will appreciate different things. I for one, like Kevin, would be excited about the cloud-based, group sharing feature, but I can appreciate that we will all want different functionality depending on how we use L4. I appreciated Bob's recent update saying that all areas are being addressed as well as new features being added. Sounds like good progress to me. Just frustrating for those of us who want things NOW!

This debate has become a recurring theme here on the Logos forums. We must all humble ourselves and realize that just because I think feature A is the most important that not everyone else agrees. That is why the page where we can vote for priories is a good thing.
