Entering a passage list is frustrating
I use the Passage List feature to pass out lists of passages for my Bible studies. However, the workflow for adding passages to a list is frustrating.
If I enter a verse reference, say Ps89.6, into the Reference box, it will popup with Psalm 89:6. Sometimes, I can then hit Enter and that verse is added to my list. Other times, nothing happens, but that the text I enter is replaced with the last reference I looked up. I have found that moving my hand away from my keyboard over to my mouse and clicking on the popup reference always seems to work. If I'm putting in 2 dozen references, though, that's a lot of hand motion. Enter should work. It should be just like entering lines on OmniOutliner or Word or something similar.
Also, if I'm entering a verse, it seems like the only possible next thing I'd want to do after entering one verse is enter another, probably a very different one. However, to enter a new verse, I have to backspace out the previous entry or Cmd-A, Backspace. The box should be cleared on its own immediately after adding a passage to the list. Rarely do I need to enter a similar verse again (like moving on to Ps89.18 or something) and even them, entering that from scratch every time is faster than backspacing every time.
Entering passages is not just painful on Passage List document either. Many places where I want to enter a passage, I have to wait for a drop down to appear or my input gets lost sometimes or something else goes wrong. This quirky behavior drives me batty. It seems like something this basic and frequently used ought to work consistently every time the right way in every part of the app.

And I just realized I was wrong about Cmd-A. That doesn't work. I have to click back into the box each time because after adding a verse the Reference box loses focus. That should not happen either.

Welcome [:D]
Concur Logos 4 Mac has focus retention issues => minor but annoying Mac bug
One option for Passage List is saving search results; then merging Passage List(s).
Another option is typing list of Bible verse abbreviations, copy, then click add, paste, click list of verses. Albeit Logos 4 Mac pop-up after adding verses takes awhile to disappear. Also learned Passage List => Add => "...clipboard" does not work in Logos 4.5a on Mac (and PC). However, pasting a list of verses into Logos 4.5a on PC allows easy addition. Hence, added item to wiki Mac and PC User Interface Differences => Feature Parity list:
- PC Passage List is easy to add verse references, while Mac entry is frustrating
By the way, Logos has a list of Bible book abbreviations => http://www.logos.com/L4/support/biblebookabbrev

Yes, I use the abbreviations quite a bit. I just entered 8-pages worth of passages from a chapter of a book we're discussing in Bible study this weekend. I got through it. One thing that is nice is entering a string of abbreviations like:
ps1.1;mt1.1;1jn1.1,2,3,4
works just as you'd want it to. That does help.

Contiguous verses can be hyphenated:
ps1.1;mt1.1;1jn1-4
Caution with quoting individual verses can be a lack of biblical context (e.g. 1 John 1:5-10 has message being witnessed to in 1 John 1:1-4).
Looking at 1 John with some Logos Greek Morphology visual filters, noticed a range of verbal expression (4 tenses plus 3 moods)
Also noticed fellowship (κοινωνία) is emphasized three times in LDGNT along with contrasting light and darkness emphasis.

The whole point of me building these verse lists from the book we are reading is to double-check the author's use of scripture, particularly context. The verse list is only an aid to that end, but thanks for the reminder.

Mea culpa [:$] since missed two characters for abbreviation:
ps1.1;mt1.1;1jn1.1-4
Thankful for Logos 4.5b Beta 5 being able to copy and paste into Passage List selection box. Caveat: add from clipboard does not work in Logos 4.5b Beta 5.

Apologies for the delay in response. The Windows platform clears and returns focus to the reference box once a passage has been added. I will create a case to bring the Mac platform in line with that behavior. Thanks!

This issue should be fixed in 4.6 Beta 1 for beta users, and in general when 4.6 ships to the stable channel.
