Change in behaviour with "F7" comparison between 4.5a and 4.5b b2

http://community.logos.com/forums/t/46632.aspx discusses an issue with the F7 comparison function not respecting the settings configured in the Text Comparison tool.

It appears that it does not work in 4.5a but it does work correctly in 4.5b b2.

I find this surprising as there is nothing in the release notes to comment on this and I wasn't even aware that the functionality was broken!

Can someone from Logos comment on whether this is actually an issue in 4.5a which is fixed in 4.5b or whether there is something else causing this discrepancy?
