BUG: Endless Synch 4.5c Beta 2
Cmd-Q and L4 Mac 4.5c Beta 2 went into an endless synch mode. After several minutes, clicked Exit Now. L4 quit with a Mac OS error message that L4 had quit unexpectedly.

We haven't been able to reproduce this issue. Is it only when you click 'Exit Now' on the sync window that this occurs or anytime you quit out of the program?

I also use the command-Q to end the program. It would give me the sync message then very quickly quit with the OSX problem report. Yesterday prior to leaving for the day, I did the command-Q to end Logos and got the sync message. This time instead of going to the OSX problem report it continued on with the sync message. I left the office. This morning I checked my office computer (using a screen sharing program) and it still had Logos running with the sync message. The main Logos window and disappeared but an undocked window was still showing. I did a force quit and again got the OSX problem report. Later I will make sure logging is enabled and see if it happens again. If it does, I will send the logs.

I went ahead and started Logos (through the screen sharing program) then closed it using command-Q. The windows disappeared, but the sync button did not appear and instead it went directly to the OSV problem report. I am including the logs and hope they will help.

I was still unable to reproduce the issue on 4.5c Beta 2, but have created a case with your logs. Thank you.

Ann,
This problem continues under Beta 3. While more of a pain, it will be nice to be rid of it.

Michael, since you say the endless sync problem is persisting in Beta 3, could you post logs when you get the endless sync problem again? You say that the logs you posted above are ones that you say went directly to the OS X problem report, without first experiencing the endless sync window. If you do see this again where you see the endless sync window followed by a crash, please post those logs as well, as they could be useful. Thank you.

Ann, maybe I should have posted a little more of an explanation. Mine is not the endless synch problem but going directly to the OSX problem report (does this every time I close the program---command-q). Here are the logs but there was only the log file in it (I made sure logging was enabled) but no crash file. I also have a screen recording that I have attached.

Thanks for the clarification, Michael. In order for us to better determine what's going on, we'll need to the get the additional logs from you as well, beyond just the Logos4.log file: Crash log, Console messages, Error log, etc. Please take a look here for more information: http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging

Ann,
I turned on Diagnostic Logging by using terminal and checked that it was on (using: defaults read com.logos.Logos_Bible_Software_4 LoggingEnabled, and got a 1 value showing Logging is on). I then quit Logos (command-q) and it immediately went to the problem report. I checked to see if the Crash log, Error log and Console message were in the Logging folder, but they were not there. I opened Logos and then quit it again and again looked in the Logging folder and still no files (only files in there are indexer.log, Logos4.log, and the nlog.config). I typed this response, but before posting it I am going to start and quit Logos again and see if the files you need appear.
After another open and quit with the problem report popping up immediately again, there are still only the 3 files in the Logging folder but not the files you need. I will attach them anyway. If you know of some other way to get those files or something else you need me to do, let me know.

Could you also provide the OS X problem report you are getting? When it appears, if you could copy/paste the text that appears into a text file and include that here, it may be useful. Thank you.

Jack, are you still seeing this on 4.5c Beta 3?

This issue should be resolved in 4.5c Beta 4. It seems to be related to the crash when closing the app with a floating window open reported here.
