Andrew, do you have EndNote?  What features are you hoping for?

i do not have endnote, but that feature looks v nice.  hopefully logos will provide something similar soon.  i don't need bibliographies for sermons (don't know why, but no one in my church has ever asked, strange I know...)

I miss 2 things from the windows version: 1) being able to type a reference ("Gen 1.1"), then clicking on the reference and being able to paste the text from it into a word / pages document.  Right now I have to copy and paste and delete footnotes of cross refs etc.  the macros for windows / Word are truly spectacular.

2) i would like to have access to my old study notes.  i have hundreds of quotes, illustrations, paragraphs copied from books etc inserted all over the scripture from my own devotional / study / reading, and have amassed quite a resource for myself.  But alas, in logos for mac, it's not available - yet.

thanks for the correspondence, any insights / comments / helps welcome.  Andrew

ps. i have L4, but am using L3 for now until L4 is officially released.

OK, I'm done complaining and went ahead with the painful process of downloading Logos for PC and running it through VMware fusion on my iMac. Works fine with only a little performance hit due to the resources I've allotted to the VM. I will stay content to operate this way and give grace to the logos Mac development team as they continue to refine and complete the product. I downloaded the Accordance 8 demo and looked at it and though it is very appealing I have too much already invested in Logos to switch now. Maybe Logos could hire some of their programmers to help complete the Mac version of Logos 4 since they've had experience at it for several years now and have a pretty nice product to show for it.

Bob P commented elsewhere that one of the Windows guys had transferred over to the Mac team to help get it done faster. I can't find it right now, but I do remember it.

Bob also said that the "Windows guy" was a Mac guy but had gone over to the Windows side to feed his family. i.e. a Windows job was all he could find.

A commentary on the sad state of the economy. Big Smile A noble Mac expert forced into shameful employment to feed his family. Geeked

Dennis, I'm using A6 now. After the last update I believe I could use it for a study. It's slow but looking very promising.

¿Can I use the resources I bought for Logos 4 Mac in the Libronix 1.2.2 for Mac? (While I wait)

Yup. More details here:

Also, if you're a Parallels or VMWare user, many Mac users have decided to install the Windows version of Logos 4 under a VM. There are a couple of threads in the forums that are linked in the FAQ in my signature.

Will there be an e-mail announcement when Logos 4 Mac is gone to Beta (or better yet when it is fully functional)? Rather than hang around a blog site (no offence meant) is there somewhere I can sign up to be e-mailed when it's up & running?

Currently running Logos 3 on the mac and Logos 4 on a really old, very slow PC laptop.

You can subscribe to the Logos blog via email in the right hand column. http://blog.logos.com/ The only trouble with this is that you will get all the other Logos news. That isn't a bad thing, it's just that it isn't exclusively dedicated to the development of Logos 4 Mac.

I've just bought Logos 4 and it's very hard to use. I have Accordance as a back up but you mentioned Parallels and Windows. Does Logos 4 work OK there? You also mentioned Logos 1.1 (was it?) Is there an older format that can help get me started into the Logos Library?

L4Mac is still in Alpha (not ready for real use), L4 works great in Parallels or Fusion. I would (and am) run L4 windows before I would run Mac 1.2, no comparison as to the feature set.

I have Windows XL (disc) but it refuses to install into Parallels (On my Macbook); I don't use Windows. What is L4 Windows?

Oops! I guess you mean Logos 4 Windows. I'm tossing up whether to get a Windows version or just use the other Bible Study program until the Logos Mac version happens

Your choice, but the L4 Windows and L4Mac are using the same feature set, so any learning that you do on L4Win, will be just as useful for L4Mac. Plus, you get the fun of hunting down the L4Mac bugs and stomping on them.

Don't forget that if when you buy L4, you get both the Mac and the Windows versions on the same license.
