TimeLine Filter and Find give 0 result
I have a Mac OSX 10.8.3 with the latest Mac operation system and the latest version of Logos 5 silver package. The TimeLine opens fine and I get some 8390 entries. If, I type any character in the “Filer” field that will cause all the entries to disappear and give a “0” result response. If I try to do “Find” the same thing happens. I have used the “Update Resources” command and restarted Logos but all stay the same.
Please, help me

Hopefully someone with a Mac can confirm this but I can't reproduce your results in Windows.

FYI - the latest version of OSX is 10.8.4.

Can you tell us which version?

That isn't happening for me. I wonder if you have a corrupted .db file. I don't know if logs would help diagnose the problem or not… but it can't hurt. Can you follow the link in my signature line for instructions on enabling logging?

Logos 5 has free software engine version. Curious about version: Logos menu => About Logos Bible Software 5 ?
Silver package is a set of digital resource licenses.

Curious about character(s) ? A screen shot would be helpful => http://wiki.logos.com/Screenshot to allow others to try replicating issue.
Wonder if indexing is complete ?

Soon, wiki => http://wiki.logos.com/Mac_Release_Notes_and_History shows number of Release Candidates before "Gold" ranges from 1 to 3.
Logos 5.1 release notes => http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_5.1 includes four Timeline bug fixes:
- Implemented ‘lock’ icon for timeline event references that are located in a resource not in the user’s library.
- Fixed bug which did not allow ‘Find’ to locate words that are not typed in the filter box.
- Fixed bug which prevented full titles from displaying on hover and click. (See this thread.)
- Fixed crash when entering ‘(’ symbol into filter.

I installed the new Beta 5.1 RC2 and made “Update now” after but it did not resolve the problem
What version of the timeline db do you now have?
As per http://community.logos.com/forums/p/71744/499520.aspx#499520 I believe the most recent update was on 18th June.
If you don't have this version can you try "update resources" (as opposed to "update now")?

I made “Update resources” but no updates were found.
So this shows you have the most recent of the resource which is good.
But - unfortunately - it doesn't explain why you aren't able to filter the timeline while others - on Mac and the same version of Logos - are.
I'm sorry but I just don't know what is going on.
Hopefully someone else will have some ideas or Logos will be able to comment after the weekend.

Suggest email to Logos Technical Support => http://www.logos.com/contact with reference to this thread.
Appears a larger library has some more Timeline entries => http://community.logos.com/forums/p/59933/426773.aspx#426773
Typing a "p" in Filter reduces event count from 9,312 to 2,557

I'm pretty sure I've solved it. You're using the Swedish UI, aren't you? I set the UI language to Swedish, and there it was.[:)] In English it works.
I'll start a thread in the beta forum for more visibility. (EDIT: BUG 5.1 RC2: No Timeline filtering in non-English UI's)
Btw, you really shouldn't post your log-in info on a public website.

I have the advantage of recognizing a Scandinavian name when I see one.[:D]

Well, I'm using the English UI (not the Swedish), and I still have this problem.
But, then I havn't updated to the Beta version - I think I'll play it safe, and wait for the Gold RC [;)]
It's good to know, anyway, that the Beta works in English, and I'm looking forward to use it.

You are right it is not good to post log-in info on a public website.
Is there an administrator or moderator who could delete that part? I tried but it was not possible any more.
Thanks

Does this mean that I am really really clever who solved it in spite of neither of you doing what I expected -- or just that I was incredibly lucky that both of you happened to have Scandinavian sounding names?[^o)][:P]

This will be fixed in 5.1 RC-3 for beta testers and in general when 5.1 ships to stable.
