Let me begin with a word of thanks, once again, for the continued on-going support of Proclaim!! All my past issues have been resolved and Proclaim just continues to get better and smoother all the time! I only wish our church wireless network was faster! LOL
I have a Suggestion for consideration in a future upgrade...
I would love a way to incorporate a Scripture verse into a slide in the middle of a song. Our church does not run live video cameras that project live video onto the front screens (often shown by churches during instrumental solos), however, we still do include instrumental solos in songs. When we do have an instrumental solo, we insert a [blank] slide, however, it would be much more effective if we could direct the congregation's attention to a scripture verse during an instrumental solo. (This might be a good consideration also for churches that do project live video... i.e. let your people focus on a Scripture verse rather than just watch a cool guitar solo).
I've tried just typing in a Scripture Verse into a song as I would a song verse but the main problem is that I cannot change the font, style, or size of the Scripture verse and it appears just like the rest of the song lyrics which can be confusing for the congregation as they wonder if they're supposed to be singing these words?
I've also tried creating a custom text field but unfortunately the field appears on every slide, and the font size will not get bigger even when resizing the text box, and line-breaks are not accepted in the custom field, so that doesn't work.
One option I have used is to duplicate the song so it sandwiches a Scripture/Bible Verse. To do this I set the format of the duplicate song(s) differently to make 1 complete song.
For example, the first song (part 1) may have a format of: V1, C, V2, C, and that's all. The next slide is a Scripture/Bible Slide that is displayed during an instrumental solo, usually with the same background slide as the song. The next song, i.e. the duplicate song, is the rest of the song, usually with a format something like, B, B, B, B, C, C.
While this works, the biggest issue is it starts to make the "reuse" function messy, since I now have duplicate songs that are formatted in a variety of ways.
So, I think it would be a great addition to have a way to include a Bible Slide into a Song Slide. Of course Proclaim gets to decide the best way to do it, but it could be as simple as creating a way to format the text of lyrics differently within a song, or actually importing a Bible Slide into a Song slide and sizing and dragging the box to display the verse how and where we want it.
