I believe we were told a few updates ago that we could change the size of our backgrounds to fit the slideI cant seem to figure out how to do this????

Background images are automatically resized to fit as much of the slide as possible. If you want to manually resize an image, you can add a foreground image using the rightmost button on the toolbar above the slide preview (the same bar with the font options, the button looks like two mountain peaks with the sun over them). You can then click the image to select it (you might have to move some text boxes out of the way first) and resize it as you'd expect.
