I wanted to make a clipping of the text of a footnote. I clicked the footnote, selected the text in the bubble, pressed CTR + C to copy it just in case it didn't work, then right clicked. It jumped out of the footnote and back to the original page. then when I tried pasting the text in a note I discovered that none of the footnote text made it to the clipboard.
