Proclaim Remote 2.0 Issues during Ash Wed Service

I had a number of issues trying to run the service from the new remote. Mainly, not all the slides changed when I selected a slide on the remote. I clicked on the slide and the screen changed on the remote but not with the main presentation. This happened a number of frustrating times during the service. I don't know if it was just a delay or if it did not change at all - I didn't have a chance to figure it out during the service.

Hi Aaron,

I'm very sorry about the issues you encountered tonight, I'll follow up with you over e-mail in the morning to get more details on your experience.  I don't see any problems with our servers around the time your presentation was active, so I suspect you encountered connectivity issues at some point on your device.  Unfortunately, the remote currently does a poor job of notifying you.  Essentially what happens on a communication failure during presentation control is that the remote reconnects and recovers as soon it's able to, but it doesn't bring up an alert notifying you there was a problem in the mean time.

We have an update awaiting approval on the app store that fixes a handful issues we found during the first weekend of having users on the new remote.  The update following that one will include better error reporting for the user, which should hopefully eliminate all of the confusion the app caused for you tonight.
