Proclaim Remote becomming worthless

With the recent updates to the Proclaim remote for iPad it is useless for use in a service. Slides take 20-30 seconds to change and while changing there is a loading graphic in the middle of the slide. Atlease before as it was slow to switch I could still read the slide, now that is impossible. I typically read my scripture from the iPad slides as I change them.

The old iPad app had a delay, but it seems worse now. This really needs to be addressed, I have a decent internet connection in the sanctuary ~ 10 mb/sec, and should not have this issue.

Hi Kristopher,

We're looking into issues with slide delays, but at worst, you shouldn't be seeing anything longer than a 3-5 second delay. Were you seeing the long delay on every slide change, or was it just a specific request that timed out (in which case you would have seen an error message about being unable to change the slide)?

You need to make sure that both devices are also hitting a good connection to the network not just the network speed.

This was every slide change took at least 10 seconds. Has done it now two weeks in a row. Both the projection computer and the iPad are connected to the same network with a strong connection, router is less than 15 feet away from each.

This was especially difficult this week as I had to run the entire service from the iPad, since our tech was not there. During songs I would have to switch the slide at the beginning of a slide so that it would be changed before the next slide was needed. It was terrible. This was much worse for my sermon when I needed the bible text. The slide change indicator is nice, but having it in the middle of the slide made it so typically I had to stop before reading the slide because it was hiding so much of the text. To me this is a major issue. I was even in "confidence" screen mode on my ipad so it was not even sending the background or any of those things, network speed should not have been an issue here.

An update on this: We're still actively working on the slide delay issue, and you should also see a less obtrusive slide change indicator in the next update.

All, we got some traction on this issue this morning. We believe it's related to the relocation of some (but not all) servers to a new datacenter in Seattle. I expect this issue to be resolved early next week. Thanks for your patience.

So glad to hear that! It was a little slow this week, but not as bad as the last few weeks I had probably 5-8 seconds lag instead of 10-20. Overall Proclaim worked better this week than it has in a month or more

The remote performed much better this weekend. I saw only 1 - 2 second delay, which is well within my tolerance. I just wanted to stop by and say thank you for taking our concerns with this seriously and making adjustments on your end to make the remote much more usable during a service.
