Collection Default Settings - Does Not Remember My Selections

Currently, if I select that I want to view the "subject" and "type" (or any other selection) of resources when I am creating collections, those choices are not remembered. The next time I go to make a collection, I have to reselect those fields. It would be nice if my choices were remembered. Also, collections always defaults to a basic list view and not the more comprehensive view that shows the different fields.

Neither of these are problems in My Library, however.
