I am trying to find a way to have a bible and a commentary open at the same time in reader view but just can't seem to find a way to do it? Any suggestions? I'm on a newer Mac Pro laptop running Yosemite.
I think the point of reader view is to eliminate EVERYTHING... including a second book. I can understand your desire for a minimalist layout... perhaps the best you could do is to float a panel, turn off as much menu as possible, and go full screen.
Thanks, that's what I was thinking might be the answer... actually, after working with it for a little bit I have found the value in the single pane anyway in that I can always add the other resource in the tabs at the top and it remains in the "reading view" mode.
My issue was not only the minimalist view, which was really important to my easily distracted mind, but the format the reading view shows (see screen shot which I'm sure you're familiar with anyway but maybe someone else might not be). It's much easier on the eye as the layout is much more like what my mind expects from an actual printed page (not that I use the paper version much anymore though).
Anyway, thanks for confirming what I was thinking anyway. SF
