Video Problems

To whom it may concern:

Our church just purchased the on air, pro media and motion graphics. All in all I like the program but may have found a glitch with trying to put one of proclaims videos or motion graphics "on air". Occasionally when going on air, the video or motion graphic does not display correctly either on my computer monitor or the multi media large displays. It shows the background but shows various pixel movement and not the video.This has happened to me now about three different times. If I click the play button in the program, it looks fine. This only happens when I go on air. This happened to me today at my church while showing the presentation to our Pastor.

The church is using an Dell Optiplex 980 with an Intel I7 dual core processor, 4 GB Ram, 250 GB hard drive, Processor 2.8 Ghz Operating system Windows 7 Home Premium.

This has happened with different videos. Proclaim ver. 1.260.0607

It would help if you could keep the posts in one thread - you will see that, in order to avoid confusion, I have tried to close down your original now that all the relevant details are here.

Counter intuitive, as it may be, there is nothing odd about replying to yourself.

Now that the information has been provided I am sure that one of the techs will be along to answer your question.

In the meantime, and with no windows experience myself, I do note that a common solution (and one that cannot do any harm) is to

1. double check that all the video drivers (whatever they are) are up to date.

2. try running without 'hardware acceleration' (whatever that is).

Neither of these, as I understand it, can do any harm and the first is good policy anyway.

First please make sure your video drivers are all up to date. If the issue still occurs then try the workaround described here.

One other piece of information that may be relevant is how the machine is connected to your projector and/or other displays. Are you using any splitters?

The latest ATI video drivers are installed. We use a video distributor with a HDMI input from the computer to the video distributor. This allows us to switch between our stage and remote video cameras and our presentation computer. I tried to use the windows 7 control panel to disable video acceleration on our ATI card but it does not give me an option to disable acceleration. How does your option to dissable video acceleration work at startup of proclaim by checking the box to disable?

It sets a registry key temporarily for your video card that disables hardware acceleration. Are you not able to reach the checkbox on startup of Proclaim?

Hello Spencer,

I can disable acceleration with the check box but was just curious as to how you disable it when I could not in windows with the control panel..

Another question, if I use a picture I've taken for a presentation, is there any way to add a text box to a camera picture? I know that I can in a content slide but how about pictures? I have to edit them in another program with the added text. For example, I took a picture of the alter with the beautiful stained glass window in the background and wanted to add text at the bottom of the picture to say "Welcome to our Church"

There is some code that sets the correct registry key to the correct value. In order to do this yourself, you would have to edit the registry key via regedit, however I do not advise doing so yourself.

Not sure what you mean here. You could upload the picture into Proclaim to use as a background, set the picture as a background for a content, and then add a custom text box to the content item. Is this not what you would like to do?
