Just Upgraded to Logos 6 Core Engine from 5 - Any ideas for me?
Hello! I really like the new layout of Logos 6 versus 5! I had the Logos 5 crossgrade from 4 (bronze package), but this time I waited to do a crossgrade for features. I'm a lay leader at my church so any upgrading comes out of my pocket.
Are there any features I should be aware of that are proving especially useful for study of historical background and original word meanings in the text?
Also- if anyone has any recommendations on earning credit from Faithlife so maybe I can upgrade in the future not so much out of my pocket- I'm all ears! Thanks friends.

Adam, start by watching the videos and see what caters to your needs. I like the Ancient literature section in the Passage Guide. It is probably my favourite.
Remember you can pay in installments.

Feature Crossgrade or the free Core Engine as per your title? Which Logos 5 crossgrade? These determine the features you get in Logos 6.

After following the advice above, if you haven't done so already, you might check the What's New thread that lists the new features. Each feature is linked to another post and most of those indicate which packages or crossgrades include the feature. (That information is usually at the bottom of each post.)

Oh just the core engine upgrade to Logos 6. I do have Factbook with some useful features as well as Bible Sense Lexicon.

The Atlas tool downloads high resolution maps from Faithlife servers; so it does not use your map resources. It is almost as useful as Logos 4/5 Maps, but what feature are you interested in?

This seems like a good place to join in and ask questions! I've also upgraded to Logos 6, just the engine (from Logos 4). I used to use the maps feature quite frequently but now I can't seem to find it. I've found "Atlas" but it tells me I have no maps available. Does this mean what I used to have is no longer available to me without purchasing something?

You should have a resource Biblical Places Maps which comes from Biblical Places in Logos 4, and you can search for maps as follows

I have operated on Logos 4 for some time.
Would it be worth my while to upgrade to the free Logos 6 engine and just maintain my existing resources which are quite substantial.

Absolutely, even just to be on a supported version. But there are lots of new capabilities as well

can you send me a link of how to do that.
I have logos 4 on my pc at church office and on my laptop at home.
At home the L4 is giving issues with indexing my resources.
Would this upgrade solve the indexing issues?
How does the upgrade affect the fact that I have my logos on two pc's. many thanks garydee

You will need to update both PCs. Once you have "bought" the free upgrade on one machine, starting Logos on the other and checking for updates should trigger the update on that one as well

successfully uploaded free L6 engine onto logos 4 on PC at church office, home this evening and trying to load L6 free core engine to upgrade logos 4 on my laptop at home. wont let me add it to the cart?

You can't "buy it" again as you already have it.
Instead of trying to add it to the cart does it trigger the download if you type "update now" in the command box in Logos 4 on your laptop?
If that doesn't work you will find the download image at the bottom of https://www.logos.com/product/46767/logos-6-core-engine - you can download that and run it to upgrade to Logos 6
Hope this gets you going.

have done both instructions. when i download logos 6 this command forces me to retry to no avail or cancell

after midnight here must get to bed. will have to try again tomorrow evening. Have spent 7 hours downloading tonite. very frustrating.
previous indexing problem sorted. just im still on logos 4 on laptop and logos 6 on work pc. is that a problem

You won't lose anything, but your work in Logos 6 may not sync to the other installation until it is functioning as Logos 6.
