I want to read a book in Vyrso and Logos. I have Logos installed on my PC and Vyrso on my smartphone and a tablet. Somehow my reading position does NOT SYNC across any of these platforms.
What is the problem?
Please provide some more information,
What version of the various apps are you using?
Does syncing work in either direction?
Do you have the resource open on multiple platforms at the same time?
Hello Graham,
thank you for the quick reply!
I am using the latest versions of the Android app (which I downloaded today) and the latest version of Logos 6.
I did not open the rescource simultaneously on the different platforms.
Interestingly, my highlights were synced. Just not the reading position.
Strange - I've just tried it on my Android phone (using the Bible app - I don't have the Vyrso one installed on that device) and it opens to the last-read position
Some further questions:
Graham - Does the Android app provide a pop up "toast" to allow you to sync? Also, if a user has a resource in a saved layout, it will stay put, because that is what it is supposed to do... right? [Again, I beg for "projects"]

I don't believe so. I don't remember seeing one but I don't use the phone for reading much

This won't affect syncing down from desktop to mobile though.
Graham and alabama24,
I have looked for a "sync" button or command in Vyrso and have not found one, either. I would be happy if Vyrso would just sync across the two mobile devices... which it still does not.
I am using a saved layout in Logos, but again, I would be happy if Vyrso would sync.
As to you questions, Graham:
No, there are no indications of sync problems on any devices
I have tried syncing either way: Dasktop -> mobile, mobile -> desktop, mobile -> mobile.
I have not tried this on any other resources, yet.
In the iOS apps (at least in Bible!), a "toast" pop up <should> appear, allowing you to advance to the furthest read location.
Previous to the Toast being implemented, sync would only occur when you opened the resource from the library... not when you left the resource "open." As far as I know, that is the current behavior on desktop as well. If you want to have a resource synced to the location from a mobile device, you must open the resource from the library.
If you pick a random, never been opened resource and open it on either mobile or desktop, find a new location in the resource (i.e. "page 100" or "chapter 5"), give the app a minute to automatically sync, you should find that the resource will open to that location across all of your devices. The reason you are running into trouble is because your resource is already open. [:s]
Problem solved! Thank you Alabama24... and Graham for your help!
In my opinion the solution is not very elegant, but nonetheless, it is a SOLUTION. When I opened the resource from my library, it opened to the right place - in both Android devices and in Logos on my PC.
Thanks guys!
