How to Perform Syntax Search?
I don't know what the Syntax Search panel is looking for - I can't figure it out. Could someone maybe post a sample query so i can get some idea of what it is looking for? Why two boxes? What are the templates about?
Help section seems blank at the moment.
Thanks
Richard

Richard,
When you click on the search button and "Syntax Search," (1) you immediately have the option of opening up a syntax template (2), which lets you simply construct a query from some predefined searches, such as Subject, Verb. The templates are an easy way to get started with Syntax Searches.
If you click on "Query" "New Syntax Search," a floating window will open that allows you to construct your own custom searches (3). From here, you can add clauses, clause components, etc. like in 3.0. The visual aspect is different, but the searches are constructed the same (4). Currently the templates are not useful, because the syntax searches don't seem able to function when searching at the "word" level (that is my experience). You can create your own custom search and as long as you don't specify text, lemma, or gloss they seem to work fine (I haven't tried specifying morphology or semantic domains yet).
Let me know if that helps or if you have any other questions.
