Identifying Catholic Resources and Catholic Collections

Hi,

I was just wondering if there is a list of all the Catholic resources available on Verbum and from Logos that can be identified within the software.  I know that there are community tags that give indications as to what is Catholic, but a specific Catholic indicator would be a nice thing to have so that when we use a resource, we can be certain it's a Catholic resource.

Also, when going through the training videos that are available for Verbum, some of them give input on various collections that can be put together, e.g., Modern Magisterium or Modern Theology.  Is there a list of "standard" Catholic collections that users have put together (along with the rules used to create such a collection) that might be available so that all users can have access to them to assist them in making their own collections?

Thanks,

Mike

Faithlife has identified products in the logos.com store by "groups" - this may be incomplete and not 100% correct, but is a start:

Come from Store / Browse all and the click the Group "Catholic"

It will lead you here: https://www.logos.com/products/search?sort=newest&pageSize=15&Christian+Group=Catholic

    MikeG53,

I am assuming that you have many different resources from several faith traditions in your library and you are not sure about which ones may be from a Catholic faith tradition.  Am I understanding that correctly?

I know that there are some "automatic" collections that come with the Verbum base packages.  If you have a Verbum base package you may have them already; Catechism, Church Documents, Church Fathers.  I also have some others and honestly don't recall if I created them or they were provided at some point; Catechisms (plural), Apologetics, Lectionary, Aquinas and some others.

Is any of this helping?  Or going in the wrong direction from what you need?

    Steve,

Thanks, yes that is the road I was going down.  I do have some collections that came with the package I purchased and I also have the training videos where they build a couple more collections using books that they suggest.  Then I have a few of my own as well.

But I'm sure there are many other collections put together by users who know much more about the books in the libraries than I do.  So I was wondering if there is a spot/group where an advanced user might be willing to "share" their collections by provide a collection name and the rules/resources that they used to generate it.  Even if we don't have a library as extensive as theirs, their collections would be helpful to others.

Also, in general, I just think it would be good if each of the resources that Logos/Verbum sells had a specific tag for the religious nature of the resource, i.e., Catholic, Lutheran, etc.  I know there are community tags, but I'm not sure they cover all resources or how accurate they are.

For new books that are being processed and added to Logos/Verbum, it would be easy to add such a tag, but for the existing library, it might take someone some time to do that.

Maybe I need to start a Collection Sharing Group in Faithlife.

    Thanks,

    Mike
