Is there any way to add a youtube church video to Proclaim?
Joe
You can do this with e WebPage service item as described here: http://support.proclaimonline.com/hc/en-us/articles/203171209-How-do-I-add-a-video-to-my-presentation-that-is-hosted-online-
Ok. Entered the youtube address and e comes up but how do I get it to go full screen like you can in youtube? the full screen click button doesn't show when the website is in proclaim?
https://www.youtube.com/tv#/watch?v=VIDEOIDReplace VIDEOID with the YouTube video ID you want to use.
https://www.youtube.com/tv#/watch?v=VIDEOID
Would this work?
Here is the youtube video:
http://susumcamps.org/index.php/wesley-forest
I pasted the section after http://
Got an error saying please try again later
When you paste the link it needs to be a youtube.com link direct to a video.
Your website gave me: https://youtu.be/5YgOxxov1PA
Which opened on YouTube as: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YgOxxov1PA&feature=youtu.be
Copy/pasting either of these urls are not recognized as a YouTube video links, so we treat it as a web page
When we get a youtube url that we recognize, we change it to the embedded version
The 'main' format for YouTube url's is youtube.com/watch?v=VIDEOID
we change this in Proclaim to youtube.com/embed/VIDEOID?autoplay=1
Your video, once I changed the link in youtube to copy/paste changed to:
https://www.youtube.com/embed/5YgOxxov1PA?autoplay=1
I will get a help page written with this information. I was assuming you were browsing and finding a video on youtube.com to copy/paste, sorry.
You lost me as how you achieved this conversion but it works!
Please show us how this conversion is done, please!
Very useful for our presentations!
Thank you
The developer in me took over, sorry.
The basic thing for YouTube to auto embed is to copy/paste with this format: youtube.com/watch?v=VIDEOID
Glen,
How to you get this information from the website?
I see you added to https://www.youtube.com/embed/5YgOxxov1PA?autoplay=1
which I used in Proclaim
Just trying to learn so I don't have to keep posting on the forum.
Thanks
I am using Google Chrome to watch on youtube
OK!
I opened the youtube video in IE and now see where you got this info! Question, how do I get the same info from google chrome which I would like to use instead of IE?
Tried your conversion with another youtube video and it worked perfectly!
Thanks for this forum and learning the ropes with Proclaim!
There are a couple ways to get the full YouTube url from your camp website (or other YouTube videos you find on other websites).
The second option allows you to open the video on YouTube and simply copy/paste the full YouTube url which Proclaim knows how to parse.
I hope that helps and no worries, keep posting your questions, especially for stuff you don't find on our help pages. We are happy to help and like this question it shows a hole in our help pages and we will be adding more info!
Glenn
Glen!
Thanks but another question: Can I put this youtube video in the pre service loop? I tried but it played a couple of seconds and advanced to the next slide. We are trying to invite members to sign up their children for Church camp this summer. I would like to do this for this Sunday's Service. I am using skype to train Proclaim group members and the info you gave me is very useful to our Church!
Thanks so much Glenn for all your help!
Service Items in the pre-service loop try to auto-detect how long to show the page then auto advance. As this is on a WebPage ServiceItem we don't know how long to stay on the web page (on Video service items we have the downloaded video to detect a 3 minute 43 second video).
You can use the "Auto-Advance every [xx] seconds" check box and change the timing to how long you want to stay on the WebPage.
Hey Glen!
I timed the youtube video and added this time to the (advance every ___ seconds). This works great!
Problrm now is I am getting an error when trying to backup presentation. Included is the proclaim log and error log.
1016.ProclaimError.logJoe6036.Proclaim.log
Do you have a 'local' video service item? The error in the log says it cannot find a wmv video.
Error exporting presentation System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Users\WSUMC\Desktop\WSUMC.wmv'
Yes Glenn. It was to large to send to the cloud. I believe the limit is 500 mb?
Will this cause any problems?
Thanks again
200 MB upload limit - http://support.proclaimonline.com/hc/en-us/articles/204703575-What-type-of-video-files-can-I-add-
It just won't be saved in the backup, when you restore on a different computer, you will need to find and re-setup the local video item, if you have that local video on the church computer
