Very sloooow download to no download of setup files

Have downloaded the Setup files and clicked install/setup.

Now the program is trying to download the Proclaim web script......

In 2 hrs, there has been 13Mb of data downloaded according to Windows Connection dialogue box.

the progress bar in Proclaim Setup has not moved at all.

Have disabled all virus software bar Microsoft Security Essentials.

Win 7, Sony E series, I5, 4Gb Ram, stacks of HD space.

When cancel setup, message comes up 'Setup was unable to download a required file.'

i have admin level access to Laptop, There is nothing - zip - in the AppData>>Local>>Proclaim>>Install>>Installers folder/s.

Proclaim uses Microsoft's BITS (Background Intelligent Background Service) to download files. It would appear that your BITS isn't working properly... There is a Logos web page that discusses (among other things) resetting the BITS service--you might try that. https://www.logos.com/firewall

Thanks for the link to the firewall page.

I had already tried the BITS thing after seeing it mentioned in the forums before I posted on the forum.

the problem was fixed via the Windows Firewall adjustment mentioned in the link.

so all good now - thanks for the help.
