    Thanks for this Rosie,

I have been experimenting with my prayer life. Upon reading The Undefeated Mind: ... by Alex Lickerman, who is a Buddhist and champions chanting as a path to wisdom. This got me to wondering whether or not there were any Christian equivalents or alternatives to this practice.

I knew of Gregorian chanting as a choral art form, but my interest was more along the lines of Lickerman's book. I went first to the bible and searched on the word chant and to my surprise I got hits and they gave me hints for what to look for in the way of reading material that would set me on the right path.

I can recommend Centering Prayer and Inner Awakening by Cynthia Borgeault. I have another book by her on order that is going straight at the chanting practice called Chanting the Psalms: A Practical Guide with Instructional CD.

Cynthia Borgeault looks like a great author for Logos or Vyrso, I prefer Logos. I plan to read several of her other books; looking especially good is The Wisdom Jesus:...

Meanwhile, Jesus kept on growing wiser and more mature, and in favor with God and his fellow man.
