I don't know if proclaim has the functionality to do lower thirds layovers on live video. Is this possible? If so how can this be done?

Proclaim does not support overlays on it's On Air output.
I know this is something my church and other churches I'm familiar with want to do. From what I've gathered the setup requires video switching hardware from something like Blackmagic. I haven't ever set this up, but from what I'm told, a lyrics projection software can be displayed as a lower third on top of another live video feed through the Blackmagic or video switching system. What I'm not clear on is if the software (in this case Proclaim) needs to support anything special to display correctly in the video produced by the Blackmagic or video switching system. Proclaim only allows 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios for presentations. However, you can set your margins for music and text so that your text only fills the lower third of the screen. I'm not sure if that is enough to make it happen though.
At my church we have an ATEM Blackmagic switcher. Since we use a black background behind our text and place our text at the bottom of the screen, we can use the switcher to 'key' out the black, which leaves just the song lyrics. Then we can overlay this over our live feed.
Proclaim's 16:9 mode outputs at 1080p, so you shouldn't have any problems dealing with the switcher.
Does this mean you are running 2 proclaim machines? 1 for the backgrounds on the screens and a second one for the lower thirds for the video stream?
