Highlighting text in a resource
How do we highlight text in a resource?? I see the visual filter, which has great value. But that doesn't replace the need to highlight or format particular passages in a given resource. I can't read anything without the ability to underline or hightlight. Am I missing something, or is that just not here?

Boy, oh boy, this would be a big mistake to leave out of the initial release. Can't imagine the thinking behind this. I use it often. I only wish there were more options.

Maybe I'm a bit dense, but I don't really understand. Just read this post a few minutes ago - highlighted and copied Phil 4.4 ----- Here it is:
4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.
Then I added it to one of my notes...

Philippians 4: 4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. 5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand..........

They don't mean the ability to highlight with a mouse for copying, but to add a highlight like one would using a yellow highlighter on a written page. Nearly all Bible software programs have the ability to do this. To leave such a basic feature out of a release when it has been there in the past and almost every other program has it would be a HUGE oversight. It would be like selling a car without a radio. You can by hardly anyone would.

Thank you, Kevin! Peace to you! *smile*
I appreciate your post very much. I use the visual highlights all of the time on v. 3. For some reason, I did not become aware that that was the kind of highlighting they were referring to you :-)

this feature is not in the Beta, and, according to Bob, may not be in the final v.4.
That's not nice!! As someone who has invested in Visual Markup, I think it's pretty important to have the feature and to have a way of converting v.3 markup to v. 4. I would hate to lose that work.

Trust me, many of us, even who have not used markups and notes, have voiced this opinion repeatedly and i will continue to make it every chance I get.

I'll weigh in on this as well. I think it's essential to have custom markup capability in the final version of the product. I use visual filters all over the place, but I also do lots of custom markup on things like synoptic gospels parallels -- which can only be done at this point by hand, using highlighter pens or equivalent. I have done extensive work on this in v.3 and if it's not in the final release of v.4, I will have to keep running v.3 to support it (and recommending that all my students in gospels classes do the same!)

I'm going to agree.
Just as a basic thing when reading..I highlight words or sentences....even if I get rid of them after the session...this is just basic stuff....

Finally up and running and was trying to figure this out. I'm very disappointed that I can't use visual markups. I mark up everything I read! I hope it gets added back in a later version.

Hopefully the development team will reconsider this. Custom highlighting really is crucial. As well as the ability to import your highlighting from Version 3. Why would I "upgrade" to version 4 if I lose all my work in doing so??

Just weighing in with others on this...To me, the customizable highlighting is a must-have feature.

I'll agree here. One of the main "selling points" of Libronix as a system was the ability to carry around a whole library in my PC. I can't have a library of "books" that I can't markup and highlight.
Pretty simple.

I know it's coming..... but.....
The new reading view is seriously limited by the inability to add highlighting as we read our way through a text.

I agree that highlighting and the ability to add symbols to what you reading should be included. As far as I am concerned, this is a no-brainer!
