Love the information setting menu!
I'm downloading 37.5 MB of it right now.
Looks great! The Information window setting menu is awesome! Thanks!
Peter
Installed w/o a problem. Like the new information pane settings. Impressive list of quashed bugs too!
Hmmm, in the NIV or God's Word translation, when clicking on an English word (e.g. the word "last" in NIV Heb 1:2), the Info panel gives me a few words from the Apologetics Study Bible. Does that make sense, or is that a bug? Here are my prioritized resource list:
As everyone has said....well done! That info menu is sick!
I think the problems with truncated footnotes are better, but the message that popped up about HCSB on the cursed iphone (did I say that out loud?) was truncated and had no scroll bar.
Info settings are great. THANKS.
If I am seeing this right, it doesn't search for Parallel resources until you click the button. That's a big improvement IMHO. Beta 6 seems quicker.
I am still experiencing about a 5 second lag between clicking the highlight and having it actually show up on the text. It's better than before, though, so I'm okay with that for now.
Typing notes used to be maddening in beta 5. There was 2-3 sec lag between my typing and the letters appearing on the screen (I'm too bad a typist for that). Now it's instantaneous. I suspected it was due to the CPU maxing out for other reasons. Either way, it's good now. THANKS for that one too.
Scrolling still hesitates a bit for some reaoson. (ever since beta 4). I'll post more on that tomorrow after I've done some more testing, etc. It may also be smoother than before, but I couldn't tell yet. I'll know more after my study time tomorrow.
Overall, I'm thrilled with the improvements. Can't wait for the next update. [:D]

It makes sense! It is indexed for English headwords which (real) commentaries are NOT, and "last" is one of its entries.
going against wisdom here and wanting to beta on my primary laptop. i can still, right, or did I need to do it on Beta one. This would NOT be a fresh install, but over my current L4. Is it possible that way?
Thanks for the improvements to Parallel Resource sets and fixing the bugs in index merging (that could cause the Grid tocrash, text to be truncated in Verses view, and verse counts to beincorrect). Proof of verse counts will have to wait until I re-index a bible.
I have confirmed that Word Study Bible:KJV is now included in Bible search results.
The Information tool's panel Settings are very useful.
Thanks for the neat improvements and bug fixes! Downloaded automatically and installed quickly and smoothly.

Thank you! I'd asked for this. Love it! (This is in Passage Guides, for you others reading this.)
And thanks for the bug fixes. I've marked a couple of my reported bugs in the wiki as fixed now. Others don't seem to have been attended to for many beta versions. Some still even show as "pending" when they are easily reproducible. What's the process/timeline for someone checking these out and marking them as "confirmed"?
One bobble after the install but that seems to have cleared up after a re-boot. No errors on the log, so it isn't attached.
Speed is greatly improved and CPU usage is way way down most of the time. The parallel resource icons pop up much more quickly and it doesn't take long to open the lists the first time (almost instantaneous after the first time (after they are first generated)). This is good news after the experience I had in Beta 5. [Y]
Though I don't use it often and it is slow to generate, it is nice to be able to customize the Information Panel. Good feature.
Thanks Dave. I don't fully understand your answer, but I added some dictionaries in my prioritized list ahead of the commentaries, and this "fixed" the problem.
Beta 6 is, indeed, faster than beta 5. Many things, including scrolling up/down, highlighting and creating clippings feel snappier. Not sure what was done but it seems to have had a good effect. Very nice!
+1 grateful and impressed user
Added a resource description pop-up to resource hyperlinks in the Commentaries and Cross References sections
[:D]
This does not appear to be working for Witherington's The Letters to Philemon, the Colossians, and the Ephesians : A Socio-Rhetorical Commentary . The others show info and image, this one just shows the title.
Upon further investigation ... if the commentary title is too long for the width of the passage guide (i.e. it is truncated buy the window) then the title is displayed and not the info. Making the width of the PG wider enables the full info pop-up.
I would have expected the full info pop-up at all times since it does include the full title at any rate.
Okay, I give up. Where is this setting? I see the Language program setting, but not the Information panel setting.
EDIT: Never mind. I see it now. It's not in the settings menu. And it's not about the resource information panel. It's in the separate Information pane that you can have along side the other panes. I didn't see it because I rarely (i.e., never) use it, and normally have it closed. It also seems to slow down L4's responsiveness.

Yes I see the problem when the resourse title is longer than the width of the window: the full title pops up in a box when the mouse is over it, but the description doesn't. When the full title fits in the window, the full title box doesn't pop up and the description pops up fine.

It's in the Information window, not the Program Settings window:
Thanks for reporting this; I've filed a bug.
I see the Language program setting
where?
I found the other one for the information panel.
Is this referring to "font" choices under the Program settings for the differing languages?
