Welcome to the fourms David. Have you tried rebooting your computer?

I have Logos 6 on a Macbook Pro on Yosemite. Today I have had the same problem. I tried rebooting twice but to no avail. I am trying to uninstall / reinstall and see if that corrects the problem.

Same equipment here. I am having to force quit the application as well. The uninstall and reinstall is a pain to do. Let me know if it worked.

Follow the steps in Diagnostic Logging https://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging and up load your logos.

Sorry, but that is Greek to me...which I did not take. That is why I have Logos 6.
I can't get to anything. Logos is totally locked up. Have to force quit.

If you do not get it solved, a call to Logos Tech support may be in order.

Open Logos from your applications (finder -> applications -> logos 6) rather than desktop. According to tech support, it is a problem with Logos' latest update. Will be fixed soon. Simple fix--worked for me at least.

Thanks David, it worked when opening directly from the applications menu. For others, don't try the icon in applications. It won't work. Open directly from the Logos 6 main menu in applications.

Hi David,
I did the re-install and it seems to work fine now. It takes a long time to index so I just left the machine to do its thing. Sorry you had the same troubles. I am glad Logos works on a Mac though. I spend hours on Logos every week for sermon prep research. Nice to be able to read loads of good commentaries from anywhere. Grace to you.

Sean, I did the open through the applications menu and it finally opened. Hopefully there will be a fix soon. I have been using Logos for years. Best Bible program out there. Blessings.

There was a change between 6.2, 6.3 and now 6.4. The technical reasons are unimportant to most of us, but what it means is that you will need to trash the old dock icon and create a new one. If you are having ongoing problems, please create a new thread and explain the issue. You may need to provide logs (see my signature line).

Welcome to the forums! Sorry you had troubles! [:s]
Doing a complete reinstall is a nuclear option, and rarely necessary. Next time come to the forums! Generally it will be much quicker than the route you took! [:s]

Curiously I had the same problem on 2 computers. In both cases, restarting the computer resulted in Logos whining and sulking but eventually opening.

I got home. Logos worked. Blue ball said restart to apply 6.4 sr1 (I think). It cannot stay open. I et a windows dialog saying it is checking for a solution and then it offers to close the app. Windows 8.1.
I did reboot just in case.
I was instructed to create a new thread so it is at https://community.logos.com/forums/t/107018.aspx for my case. Sorry for the distraction.
