Saving Proclaim presentation to flash drive

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen:

I'm wondering if there is any way I can save my presentation to a flash drive when I'm done with it. We've had an occasional instance when our sanctuary computer is not getting internet connectivity from the router and I can't get into the office to fix it. I'd like to be able to save it to a flash drive and open it from that media as a backup if the router is offline. Is this possible and how do I do it?

Hi Sloan

Welcome to the forums, I hope that Proclaim is performing for you.

I haven't tested this but you might like to try.

Complete your presentation on office computer
Go to the 'New' menu and select 'Back Up Presentation'
Set the destination to your flash drive.
Dismount the flash drive.
With the flash drive mounted in the sanctuary computer go to the 'New' menu and select 'Restore Presentation'

Caveat

Without internet connections on the sanctuary computer some features of the program won't perform. There are ways round this though and I have never had a problem presenting without internet. I don't carry a flash drive though - I just lift the MacBook Air and take the whole thing. Its somewhat less trouble than trying to run off a computer that may not have all the latest updates.

Of course the adage 'Fail to prepare - prepare to fail' applies in this case to. Leave plenty of time to run through the presentation prior to the service on the actual computer using the actual projector etc.

Hi. I've used this on a number of occasions. It was working fine on my windows 7 laptop. Now on windows 8.1, every time i try to do a backup, i get a message something like "proclam was unable to download all of the content for the following slides" - and a list of slides that, typically, are nothing special. Basic text content with a blue fade background for liturgy. These are slides that we have used for some time. Retries get the same result.

Fortunately, i've never yet had to rely on one of these backups, so i don't know what the results would be if i restored one - but it obviously worries me somewhat

If you post the Proclaim.log file as outlined here from a session which reproduces the backup with warning I can take a closer look.
