B6: Scrolling is still very jerky and uses 50% CPU
Scrolling through a resource is still very jerky. After scrolling a few lines, in pauses for a second or so while CPU runs at 50%. Scrolling resumes for a few more lines, and then the same thing happens.
I've tried disconnecting all syncing with other resources, and turning off all visual filters, but it makes no difference.

if your info window is set to hover, it may be firing - try putting it to click I have and get no cpu spike

Richard, you might want to post your logs. While I do have a small amount of jerkiness while scrolling, it is barely noticeable and does not hamper my work at all. I have a fair amount of resources open at the time, and when I close them all out, there is no jerkiness at all.

It seems to happen after Logos has been open for a while ... quitting and restarting does help.
I've also noticed that scrolling using the keyboard is better than using the mousewheel, but my mouse is pretty old and the wheel is starting to play up.
But the jerky scrolling will happen with the keyboard too once it starts to happen.

I saw this in B5 when my cpu usage hit 99%. Today it was fairly smooth in B6 until about an hour into my study with lots of highlighting etc. Then, for no apparent reason, it started lagging significantly (several seconds from keystroke to scroll). I saved the layout, shut-down and restarted the program, and it was back to normal. The unusual thing was that I had not opened any new resoruce, my info window is set to "click" not hover, and I had been applying highlights for most of an hour before it slowed. . . go figure.

Sounds very similar to my experience ... I use highlighting a lot, for instance, and the > 1 second lag from keypress to scrolling response is frequent once the issue presents itself.
Restarting solves most of these issues.

Thank you for the reports. We are looking into scrolling performance issues. Some of these are caused by long articles in books, which will eventually be resolved by rebuilding the resources that have exceptionally long articles, possibly breaking them up into smaller articles.

I'm suffering from very poor experience since about beta 5. This is probably related to the 'long article' issue. Here's one example: the OT scripture index to Beale/Carson's Commentary on the NT use of the OT. If I just click the down arrow in that part of that resource, I get 50% CPU use (so 100% of one core) for a full nine seconds! But what's interesting about this is the logs. This is what happens when I click that down arrow:

Another issue that is not helping scrolling. Every time I scroll in a Bible, ALL my collections are refreshed. (My Bible is linked to a Greek NT, a commentary and an apparatus.) This presumable is linked to the new PRA feature, but I see no need of it when simply scrolling, and I certainly see no need of it every time I scroll. The process adds about 0.5s to every scroll, and the more collections I had the worse it's going to get.

I expect it to cache frequent database queries in memory. There is absolutely no reason to run 28 relatively intensive database queries on every scroll when most of the time the information isn't even required. I would mind less if this delay meant the Parallel Resource Sets menu appeared instantly, but it doesn't.

Only a second or so? Man you are lucky. Yesterday during sunday school it was suddenly taking a full minute for me. Closing and reopening didn't help (this was with 4.0a, not the beta). Fortunately, I still had Logos 3 installed, so I opened it up before it was my turn to read. And man was using Logos 3 like a breath of fresh air! The speed with which it responds is absolutely amazing. As pretty as Logos 4 is I would rather have just had Logos 3 with fast searching. As nice as the Logos 4 tools are, I don't find them nearly as useful as being able to actually read a resource, which I just can't reliably do in Logos 4. Today, Logos 4 is back to only taking a second or two to scroll. Logos 3 on the other hand scrolls before I can get my finger off the mouse button.
