Hi everyone,
I was hoping somebody might be able to shed some light on an issue for me. My church has been using Proclaim ever since it launched, and we love a great many things about it - but an issue that we've always suffered from, to varying degrees, has been sluggish or juddering transitions between slides (particularly Fade and Slide Horizontal, the only two we use). Whenever we do use these transitions, the problem is erratic; one slide might move in perfectly smoothly, but then the next several will be very jerky. On occasion, the Fade transition doesn't work at all, producing a momentary pause, followed by the next slide instantly appearing. It's inconsistent, and just looks poor.
Until recently I assumed that this was because our old projection PC just wasn't quite man enough for the task, but we've recently built a brand-new machine which should be way more than up to the job (it's overkill, frankly). It's a Windows 7 machine, based around an Intel Core i7 4790K, 16GB RAM, Samsung SSD system drive and an nVidia 1GB GT730 graphics card. Obviously the card is no gamer, but I know that the GPU should be more than up to the task of smoothly moving a 2D image. In perspective, the card on our old PC was an 8800GT; the GPU on the 730 is twice as powerful, yet the problem is just as bad. I've checked that GPU acceleration is enabled.
This comes across to me as an issue with Proclaim itself, but if not, does anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this? Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks for any help! :-)
