Remote Control Not Working

I am using an iPad to control some presentations at church and they have been freezing up.  I keep getting a slide change error.  I though it might be my iPad and I installed the remote on my wife's iPad which is newer and I still get the same error.  Any suggestions?

Hi, sorry the remote was causing you problems. A slide change error generally occurs when the remote never receives confirmation from Proclaim that the slide changed was successful. This can be due to a bad internet connection at either Proclaim's end or the remote's. 

I would check to make sure that your computer running Proclaim and your iPad both have a strong internet connection. (You could move the router closer, plug your computer in via ethernet, etc.)

Also, when you say 'freezing' are you meaning the app actually became unresponsive? That might mean there is something else going on here, because a slow internet connection shouldn't cause that.
