I don't even know what to ask...

Hi All,
Bought my copy of Logos 4, downloaded Libronix to my PowerMac G4. Anyone know how to get the books from Logos 4, which needs an Intel to install, onto my G4?
Thanks

You need to install Logos for Mac 1.2.2 (the engine for L1 Mac is Libronix). Contact Customer Service and request the DVD to install the resources in L1 Mac. What did you downloaded.Do you have any resources to install? To install L1, you will need serial numbers and unlock codes. Did you receive those when you downloaded Libronix?
Welcome to Logos. You will need to upgrade your computer in order to use L4.

G3 is a Mac version from long ago—must be at least 10 years old.

Yep, got them both. The intro price of 25% off was too good to pass up even though the Mac version is not out of alpha yet. Read I could get Logos Bible Software for Mac 1.2.2 and " use the majority of the books in your Logos 4 base package with it."
So Logos for Mac 1, aka Libronix Digital Library system 1.2.2 is on my Mac G4 fine. But how do I get the Logos 4 books installed on my G3?

Have Logos for Mac 1.2.2 installed. The web page for my order had the unlock and download link for previous version. Once I clicked on it, then double clicked on the file Librinox opened up fine.
The only resources are on the Logos 4 downloaded file. The cd will come later. But it will not even let me install books since it is not an Intel model. I will contact CS and request the resource DVD for L1 Mac.
It should have said G4. The Dual 1.42 G4 is a bit old. But it is still fast enough to go video editing so why get a new one. I have an iMac intel at home.
Thanks for the tip.

If you are interesting in installing Logos 4 Mac you need to read this: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/6747.aspx . Be ceratain to check your system specs against here http://www.logos.com/support/techfaq#sysreqs . If your computer is old it's very possible that L4 won't work well on it at all.

Thanks for the heads up and a point to helpful posts.
I know Logos 4 would run only on Intel machines and that Logos 1.2.2 would run on a Mac. What I was not able to fine was the information that said whether or not you could install resources from Logos 4 onto a power PC.
I have an iMac Intel model at home for Logos 4, provided the license will let me install on two computers not to be used at the same time. That is a later search.
Appreciate all the feedback.

James
You can install on multiple machines using your same logos customer ID - eg one at home, one at work.
Hope you'll enjoy Logos4 as much as I am.

Logos 4 uses a new format, but can read the old format too. This blog post might answer you question (as I"m interpreting it) http://blog.logos.com/archives/2009/12/using_your_new_logos_4_resources_in_logos_3_or_logos_for_mac_1.html In short, you can use most of the books from a Logos 4 base package in 1.2.2.

While blog scripts do not run in Logos for Mac 1.2.2, the update scripts can be used by Logos 3 for Windows (possibly virtual machine on Intel mac). Logos 3 resources in "C:\Program Files\Libronix DLS\Resources" can be copied to "/Library/Application Support/Libronix DLS/Resources" - personally created a DVD => used for copying resources to my wife's iMac, who has her own Logos id - opened Logos for Mac 1.2.2 - synced licenses - many more unlocked resources in library
Clicking "Logos 3" in blog entry opens web page for downloading Logos 3 for windows:

Another Logos 3 for Windows download option is Technical Support page:

Found the logos 4 for mac resources.
Could I copy the resources and take them to my G4 to be used by Logos 1?
Thanks

Yes, as long as your Logos 1 has its licenses synchronized and you are copying .lbxlls and not the .logos4 book files (you shouldn't have these if you followed Keep Smiling's advice above)
Prov. 15:23

OK, I have found the Logos 4 files in my me>library>Application Support>Logos 4. The Libronix DLS files are at Mac HD>Library>Application Support> Libronix DLS.
So far, I cannot find any files ending in lbxlls on my computer in the Application Support>Logos 4 folder.
I would not expect any files in my Libronix DLS folder since I only downloaded the engine.
Any ideas where to look on the Mac?

Ok, I think you misunderstood. To use Logos 4 books you need lbxlls files. There may be some in the Logos 4 resource folder but not many. You need to buy a DVD with these files on it. OR, as Keep smiling suggest, running the windows version of Libronix (either on a PC or in a virtual box) and copying its resource folder to transfer over to your Mac.
Prov. 15:23

No, you cannot copy the Logos 4 resources to use in Logos for mac 1.2.2. You need to get a resource disk for that. If you read the link in my signature that says, "NEW TO MAC ALPHA?? READ THIS FIRST!!" —it is the link between the two lightbulbs— you will find the information you need and it tells you how to get a disk.James Mol said:Found the logos 4 for mac resources.

I suggest you read the entire FAQ as it gives a lot of information you will need.

Bob Pritchett has addressed this issue more than once. You can install and use Logos software on as many computers as you personally use. This has been discussed rather often, so you can probably find a thread somewhere. Most of us would not wish to enter this discussion again. [:D]
See http://community.logos.com/forums/p/341/3265.aspx#3265 near the bottom of the page is a lengthy post by Logos CEO Bob Pritchett. and that is as official as it ever will get. [8-|]

Thanks for the point in the right direction.
Finding that was next on my list as soon as I got Logos 1 up and running.
