Egyptian Language and Writing in AYBD
The section on the Egyptian language in the "Languages" article in AYBD
The section is Egyptian Language and Writing, D. Phonology. roughly a page in or so, we find the sentence:
"The earliest states of the language display 24 consonants, transcribed as follows..."
From there the consonant system of Egyptian is give phonetically.
But there's a problem. A font problem. The first consonant listed, as appearing on the iphone/ipod touch is a teddy bear face. And it is used quite a bit in the following discussion. And to make things more complicated, on library.logos.com it appears as a box () and also in Logos 4 it appears as a box (). Only in Libronix 3 does it appear -- but trying to copy & paste it doesn't work and ends up with a box.
Anyway, FYI: Font problem.

I don't have an iPhone or similar and probably never will, but the same boxes not only appear in section D, but in other sections as well in my desktop L4. However, I do get the boxes when copying and pasting into Word2010 (βετα). Fascinating....

Thanks, Mike. There are several issues with fonts in the application and there are technical limitations of the iPhone OS that make addressing these issues difficult. There are changes in an upcoming version of iPhone OS that we hope will allow us to address the font issues in a future release.

Thank for the info, Dave.

If you could, pass this issue on to the PC version guys and the library.logos.com guys too.
