Best Devotions on the Bible?
I'd like to piece together the best devotions possible for every chapter of the Bible. I'm considering making a personal book of this, and also a physical book through Lulu for my own personal use. Preferably I like devotions that are written in response to an entire section/chapter of scripture rather than those with only a fraction of a verse (or not even that). I also prefer older devotionals rather than newer. Devotions like these help me to get my heart in a good disposition toward God through the Scripture I’m reading instead mundanely grinding through or passing over the more difficult sections of the Bible. I've found the best devotionals might actually be in the form of a commentary or a companion Bible volume rather than a calendar format.
As good examples I've found the reflections at the end of each chapter of Hawker’s Poor Man’s Commentary to be amazing. Another great example would be Philip Doddridge's “Improvements” at the end of each section of his Paraphrase of the New Testament “The Family Expositor” (my personal favorite). Thomas Chalmers also does a great job with his “Sabbath Scripture Readings”. I wish I knew of more like these.
My question is: What are the most refreshing, life giving, awe provoking, God honoring devotions on the Bible that you have ever read?

My Utmost for His Highest is always a good choice although not usually covering a large chunk.
The Treasury of David (6 vols.) has some of the best devotional material on the Psalms.
Barnes' Notes on the Old and New Testaments is rich in devotional portions too.
Lange's Commentary on the Holy Scriptures (63 vols.) The Ηomiletical And Practical sections often has a good devotional tone.
Matthew Henry's Commentary on the Bible provides a massive amount of devotional material too...
This is by no means a comprehensive list in my mind, but the ones that popped up in my mind when I thought of devotionally natured works on the bible from public domain.

Dan I checked out Spurgeon's treasury (the 6 volume version) and did not know that he included comments from major puritans and reformers on each verse in each Psalm, and then on each Psalm in total. I own the Crossway Classic version but I had no idea they cut so much out! I'll have to save up for this one! Thanks!

Not only is it great for devotions, each entry has an intro, 3 or 4 points and closing which spurs a lot of sermon and lesson ideas for me in reading.
