TIP of the day: CORRECTED: Controlling the display format of Bibles
This was going to be a post covering all layout features for a resource - until I discovered there were far more options than I realized. Think of this as installment 1.
1.This is the basic default view of the NRSV Bible. Because I am running the beta, it accidently has one more visual filter than production - the beta addressee filter.
2.Many of the options controlling what does and does not display are under the Visual Filters menu under the Resource section. These are all options provided by Logos not user generated visual filters.
3.The Speaker label icon generates a megaphone icon which on mouse over will identify the speaker of the passage. The Addressee label icon generates a person icon which on mouse over will identified the audience that the speaker addresses.
4. Items which have community tags are identified by a light blue line in Community tags is selected.
5. For all options, you may set the toggle for this resource only (check box) or for all appropriate resources (drop down menu). Selection from the drop down menu runs a command that sets/unsets the toggle switch for all resources containing the option.
6. Bible text only options apply only to Bible text. The header box must be checked for any of the subsequent check boxes to have any effect.
7.Bible text formatting toggles features such as bold, italic, red fonts. Because it is checked (as system settings are for red letter edition) Jesus' words appear in red. Uncheck the box and everything is in black..
8 Chapter/verse numbers toggles whether or not the number for chapters and verses are displayed. The Footnote indicators toggles for footnote superscripts. Non-Bible text toggles for added materials such as pericope headings.
9. One verse per line toggles between paragraph format and each verse starting on a new line.

10. Sympathetic highlighting allows one to select in one Bible with a reverse interlinear or fully tagged original language and have the corresponding words highlighted in another Bible meeting the same criteria. In this case I selected in the NRSV (blue) and the system highlighted the corresponding ESV (gray).
