Where did my menu go?

Just upgraded to a new computer from our old 2008 model. Running Windows 8 until I am sure Windows 10 will work with Proclaim. When I opened Proclaim I was asked what program I want to run .flv files? Over and over...it would not let me open Proclaim without answering. So I answered by choosing Proclaim from the list of options, figuring that would be a good guess?

Instead all of my menus disappeared. I can't add anything to Sunday's presentation. No "Add" button there. Or any menu choices. Just a big black bar. I've clicked everywhere and can't seem to find how to make it happy again.

Help.

I should add that last Sunday was the maiden voyage and everything was flawless. Tonight (Friday) I needed to show a DVD on the new computer. There was no player, so I installed VLC. When I opened Proclaim after the install is when the questions about the file association for .flv files came up. Should I uninstall the vlc player?

Have you tried uninstalling VLC to see if the issue goes away? File association seems like the likely candidate but I have not heard of this issue before. A screenshot of Proclaim in its current state will help me diagnose further.

I felt badly that I could not get to church yesterday to give it a try, but this morning I uninstalled VLC and Proclaim, rebooted, and then did a fresh install of Proclaim. All better! I am pretty sure it was a file association problem having to do with the .FLV file association, though.

Glad to hear it worked out for you. We'll look in to reproducing the VLC + Proclaim .flv issue on Monday and see if there are any recommendations we can provide.
