Near Disaster Complete presentation lost Friday eve. during edit.. with no way to recover

We were performing final edits on our sunday presentation and after adding a new slide to the sermon the presentation disappeared. on the secretary's system ...I had previewed the presentation on a different computer so I know the presentation was on line...in the cloud....the only thing remaining was the title....

Our secretary had to create the complete presentation from scratch. The only thing we could find was the title....the presentation was blank on several systems

Questions: 1. Where is the backup/ restore when on line in the cloud. Is there a backup copy not stored some where. I called tech support Friday and they were no help. They promised a call back but I received none. They were logged into our account and could see the blank presentation.

2. Where is the undo button... in the editor.....all other software has an undo function to back up to a previous edit. if you import a power point show and try to delete a slide the complete sermon is gone...

3. How do I set up my system for an automatic local backup...I know you can backup and restore but how do I implement this automatically....depending on the cloud is risky.....if the net is down in the hour before service then we have no presentation.

4. We are using windows 10 and ver. 130.0.714. This seems to have solved the memory leak problems where the system would take over memory and not release when exiting program. This caused several on- line crashes in the previous versions.

5. Where do I find instructions for setting up "remote" control so the pastor can advance thru his presentation on his device..This feature is alluded to in several videos and the on line help....is there an update that tells the whole story with system configuration requirements for a tech savvy user. There is lots of good promotional material but technical details seem to be missing also for setting up the signals..example how is the communication protocol implemented...do I need Wifi....is every one logged in to out local wifi....do I have to have an open wifi? this is risky...

Sorry to hear about the issue you experienced. I am very interested in investigating further on this one. You mention you were able to see various versions of the presentation on different machines. This means our servers knew about at least one revision of the presentation. I'll be able to look at all the edits and see how the presentation contents were deleted.

1. Where is the backup/ restore when on line in the cloud.

I will be able to access each revision of the presentation that your group synced but there is no user facing interface for retrieving this content. The closest thing we have for users is the ability to restore a deleted presentation. Sounds like your presentation wasn't deleted, just the contents, so this won't really help you.

2. Where is the undo button

Various sections (text inputs, slide edit preview, Order of Service) of the application support undo. For example if I accidentally delete a service item I can right click on the Order of Service and select Undo to restore the item. There is no global undo and undo operations are cleared when a presentation is closed or Proclaim is restarted.

3. How do I set up my system for an automatic local backup.

There is no way to do this automatically, but... when you're connected to the internet each time you sync we are saving that revision on our servers. Additionally, copies of the presentation contents are stored on the machines you use Proclaim on.

Looking at the sync data on our servers this is what we see.

At October 2nd 2:20 PM PST the following revisions were made within one minute of each other from a single client/user machine

Revision 89, service item is re-ordered (dragged 4 items down)
Revision 90, every service item not in post-service loop is deleted
Revision 91, every service item except 1 item in post-service loop is deleted
Revision 92, every service item has been deleted
Revision 93, presentation Date Given field is changed (updated to Oct 4th)

Presentation Deleted Oct 3rd 11:07 AM PST (By same logos userID but on different machine)

Does thing ring a bell at all? It is curious that so many items were deleted in rapid succession. I expect you'd have to multi-select them in the order of service and delete in order to delete them that rapidly. Everything looks good on the server side, as in it doesn't seem to be related to a messy merge conflict resulting from multiple concurrent edits. It's possible that we have client bug that automatically deletes service items but this would be the first report. Is there any additional information you can provide given this context?

Thanks for the follow up. Interesting information I tomorrow will review this with Debb our secretary . She should at this time be handling all of the creation and editing....
