Not recognizing 2nd monitor/projector

Suddenly the Proclaim system is not recognizing that a 2nd monitor is attached. I've tried it with both my 2nd monitor at home and the projector at church. While the computer itself recognizes the attached monitor, the software will not. Please assist.
I am using OS X El Capitan.

Another possibility is that an update to El Capitan turned mirroring on. You check if you have Mirroring on in your System Preferences -> Display settings, it should be off.
