FROM CHAPTER 3
HEAVEN’S (MOSTLY) UNSEEN WARRIORS
Hi Erin:
Just would like for you to take a look at the first line in this paragraph. As far as the Scripture goes, it states that Daniel was thrown in the Lion's Den for kneeling down and praying to God, rather than the king; not because he refused to worship a "golden idol" - that was the three Hebrews.
I thought I would bring this to your attention, because it seems to be a serious typo that is very misleading. Thanks for your assistance Erin.

Is Erin legally allowed to make a material change in the text of the book? This is not a typo but a grievous error in the author's research. Don't be so lenient on the author. The error is an example of poor Bible study.Kenute P. Curry said:Just would like for you to take a look at the first line in this paragraph. Ok Super.Tramp you said what i was thinking about saying; but did not know if I should or not.
I just wanted to bring it to Erin's attention, so that she would know; because this is misleading. Maybe she can contact the publishers and make them aware of this; and they in turn can contact the Author.
Later on down in Chapter 3 he gets it right. Here is the screenshot:

I probably should not have said it. I just read up on Jack Graham and he seems very respectable. I can't imagine how the error got in there.

Well it has to be corrected, so let's just leave this up to FAITHLIFE and Erin Land to have this corrected; because this is very misleading.

If it is in the original it can't lega be changed by FL, nor should it be. This is an issue where you should write the publisher.

Of course, you're both right. The author apparently pastors a church of 40,000 (!?!) members, 43% of whom tend to show up for church each week. He's a former president of the SBC. He should be more careful with his books. Certainly it's common for some big shots to have a staff put together these kinds of projects, but it's his name on the book. Maybe pastoring 17,000 people a week causes less attention to detail and makes one more likely to just hit the high spots.
By the way, Kenute, I don't pay much attention to Vyrso books, but I do appreciate your diligence. I have also noted forum responses to you to the effect that we should have low expectations for Vyrso books. That always makes me wonder: Does Vyrso tell its run of the mill customers to have low expectations for their products? In other words, is there a note on Vyrso.com that lets the ordinary Joe or Joanne, who doesn't read the Logos Forums, that they should expect low quality ebooks?

alabama24 it is not my job to contact the publishers. FAITHLIFE is selling the book, not me. It is FAITHLIFE who should contact the publishers and make them aware of this; and they in turn can contact the Author. That is the reason I have made them aware of this.
I am not a publishing company.

Thank you Robert M. Warren for your thoughts and insight on this situation. It makes sense, and is truly appreciated. There have been in the past lots of complaints about VYRSO, - and yes, they truly should step up their game, and do better.
I am sure VYRSO can do much better, but it is FAITHLIFE in control. I have never seen such mistakes and typos in any other Bible Software as I have found in VYRSO or LOGOS, for that matter. Am not going to even get into that.......
But yes, the situation with this book needs to be resolved. And soon.
VYRSO should be High-quality ebooks, and they should strive toward that end.

You do not appear to understand the VYRSO publishing model.

It IS your job to contact the publisher if you think the CONTENT needs to change. Faithlife has no business worrying about the content. If this were a typo issue, they might contact them as a courtesy. If this were a FORMATTING issue, they could contact the publisher. But if this is a content issue, it is up to the publisher and author.

I do not appreciate you lashing out like this at me alabam24 at all. I have not lashed out at you, so I feel really disrespected by you. Oh, and by the way, I never stated that FAITHLIFE should legally change this problem, because I know that they cannot. What I stated was that maybe they can do something about this. All I am doing is making FAITHLIFE aware of the situation with this book. How dare you have the audacity and absurdity to lash out at me like this, when I have not done anything wrong to you. It is as if you are taking this whole thing personally.
Now I agree with you it is the Publisher and the Author's problem, if it is a content issue. If it is a content issue??? But, if you are selling the book, I am coming back to you with the issue. Again, that is why I am making FAITHLIFE aware of this situation; so that they can find out if it is a content issue.
You know, I was thinking about buying 10 books on LOGOS worth about $200.00 but because of you I have changed my mind; so LOGOS has lost out on this one. Also, because of you, I have downloaded another Bible Software, where I just got about 150 books FREE. Debating right now whether to move from LOGOS or not.
I have great respect for Erin Land, Katie Montsuma, and Carly Ruffner. They have really helped me out in times past with issues that I have had with books, and the love of Jesus shines through their daily walk with Christ.
This will be the last response from me on this thread.

It was not my intention to "lash out at you." I apologize if you felt disrespected... that wasn't my intent.

Again, I wasn't "lashing out at you," and nothing was meant to be "personal." When you post in a public forum, then there will be public discourse. One of the great weaknesses of our culture today is the inability to disagree agreeably.

I don't know why my comments would have any bearing whatsoever on your continued use of Logos. You do realize that I am simply a user like yourself. Right?
You have been VERY helpful on many issues. Again, I thank you. In this case, however, your efforts would have been better directed towards the publisher. If this had been a print book, would you have taken it back down to Barnes & Nobel and asked them to contact the publisher? Demand that it isn't your responsibility to do so? That is what I was curious about and why I posted... what I was trying to get you to understand.
You are in a much better position to clearly articulate to the publisher and/or author why you think what they published/wrote needs to be changed.

No you are not a publishing company. However, if you wish to be effective in changing the content of the book (as opposed to correcting a publishing error), you need to know who can do something about it - the author. When you cannot find a way to contact the author, it is appropriate to go through the publisher to reach the author. If you don't know who can take care of an issue and contact that person, you can quickly lose effectiveness which obviously is not what you want. So take this as a learning opportunity - it is not the responsibility of Faithlife. You found the error - it is your responsibility to notify the author.

To expect a correction before the publication of a 2nd edition is unrealistic ... occasionally it will happen but ...

Ok, alabama24 let's come to terms with this situation. I do accept your apology; and thank you for stating that I have been helpful on many issues. And let me also apologize as well if I have said anything that has offended you.
In answer to your question, if it was a print-book, yes, I would have taken it back down to Barnes and Nobel, and asked for another copy, or asked for my money back. Now in this case, and with this book, I like the book so much, I will keep it instead of asking for a refund. I just wanted to alert FAITHLIFE and Erin Land to the situation, that's all.
So let's disagree agreeably. Happy to have you back as a friend.

Good stuff! I once reported a content error to a publisher (it was in a Vyrso book) and never even got an acknowledgement of my email.

Glad to hear this. I had somewhat lost faith in the publishing companies.
Thank you, Kenute P. Curry, for caring enough to contact them.
