Audio recordings
Hi. Thanks for the great new service to record sermons in Proclaim. I have a question - we don't have a wifi network connection in our church building so I usually sync Proclaim before the service at home and then run the software at church 'offline'. Do I need to leave Proclaim open after the service and wait until I am back in a wifi connection before I close Proclaim to avoid losing my sermon recording, or does Proclaim save the recorded sermon on my local laptop prior to syncing online? The reason for asking is that the recording seemed to work this morning but I turned off the laptop and when I opened it again at home it seems to have lost the recording - any thoughts / recommendation for future Sundays?

You do not need internet to finish a recording, however in the current version you do need to go off air in order for the recording to complete. If you shut down Proclaim while the on air session is still active the recording will not complete and Proclaim will not recognize it when restarted. Does this sound like what you did?
When you go off air without internet you will see the edit/publish window and the file upload will fail (this is fine). When you get home you can restart Proclaim and resume the file upload, edit, publish, etc.
We plan to ship an update tomorrow that will interrupt shutdown if you're on air with a recording, allowing the recording to finalize. In the future we will handle this scenario more gracefully.
Regarding your last recording, it sounds like the slide transition recordings are gone but you should be able to follow the instructions in this thread and find the raw audio file on disk. Sorry for the inconvenience and let us know if we can help.

Yes that could well have been the case. I will give it a go next Sunday and hopefully the software update will help as well. I appreciate your support. Thanks. David

Hi Scott - I managed to recover the WAV file from my laptop - can you upload it to my Proclaim if I send to you via Dropbox? Many thanks!

Soundfaith doesn't allow user uploads directly at the moment. I can get it up there for you if you want but it won't have the slide transitions. Would that still be helpful for you?
