PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS POST FOR ABUSE

Please note this is not aimed at causing controversy, I have no experience of SDA and teachings, but was given  "The Great Controvesy" by a customer today,  presumably as an outreach tool, and while I do plan on reading it.. I plan on reading it in its historical context.. however was wondering is there anything from a SDA Perspective that I need to be aware of beforehand, is this still current SDA Teaching etc..

Dominic, convictions among Adventists differ. Many SDAs realize that because The Great Controversy was written in the 19th century--even though it still has value in the 21st century--it must be evaluated in the historical context of its author. For a contemporary presentation of SDA eschatology, I recommend the Mobile Ed bundle by Jon Paulien. You might see my own resource in the Logos SDA library: SDA4rme

The library of Faithlife/Logos Bible Software includes contributions from many faith traditions, including Catholics in the Verbum line.
