Not just advertising messages: I have had many instance at work where I asked two distinct questions in an email and only get a response to the first while having the recipient deny they ever saw the second ....

Me too. That's why my strategy these days is only to ask one question per email and, if I have multiple questions, to send multiple emails.

It was an email. One question. To a salesman. I wanted to buy CE. I got one reply with a price and a deadline. I replied with a question. The salesman has remained silent, and the deadline is on his day off. I'm going to forward the whole thread to Mark Wheeler and see what my answer is
